    "Chapter 1, So Far So Good"


    "Hey Josh! Is that you?" Jamil asked as he caught
up to the person in front of him.

    The figure turned around, and said in an astonished voice,
"Jamil?"

    If it was Josh, he had changed... a lot.  Although he was still
male, and that Josh's face was very similar, the person
in front of him looked nothing like his friend.  For
starters, Josh was a foot shorter than he remembered.

    Actually, both friends were about a foot shorter.
Their eyes were the size of saucers,  their skin has become hairless and one color, and their surroundings have taken in a brighter, lighter color. Their faces details were obscured, simplified and contoured, while Jamil's normally black hair has taken an even darker shade of black...another curious thing about it is that the hair didn't even seem to have any details of strands and sheen as before, and kind of looks like it was solid and not made of different hairs.

    "Yeah...its me." Jamil replied, "Listen...don't go
near those springs.  They're dangerous."

    "Why?"

    Before Jamil could answer him, another voice interrupted.
"Well you must be wondering what happened to you."

    The boys spun around so fast they could have been
mistaken for tops.

    Behind them was the figure who sent them.  "Xellos." he
said.

    "Huh?" the boys said in unison.

    "My name...is Xellos.  I am only telling you so you will
stop thinking of me as "the figure" or something.  You have no IDEA how annoying not to be credited by your victi..err agents!" Xellos replied.  "Also...about the changes in your appearance.  Your bodies have been...altered so that you match the people in the series you inhabit.  In a different series, you would look different than you do now.  Although you would still keep most of the facial features that you had originally.  That�s why you have blue-green eyes still." Xellos pointed at them.  'Personally I think its better than the sack of flesh you guys called bodies.' Xellos thought.  It was very hard not to insult these two.

    "Although there are somethings that didn't change that
need to be." Xellos grinned. "That's why I'm here now."

    Xellos detected three people at the entrance of the
springs, and hoped they wouldn't interfere.  He had shown up
later than he wanted to because he had too talk to his partner
in this little bet.  'I must create something more interesting than Toltiir so I can take his job, although temporarily.  If all goes well, err chaotic and funny, then I will be the temporary God of Mischief.  Muhahahaha!'

    Jamil and Josh just stared at Xellos, who had began laughing in a very evil manner.

    "Err Josh?  I'm starting to get doubts on this guy's sanity." Jamil murrmured.  Josh nodded.

    Had he known that Toltiir was in the area watching the
three he detected, Xellos would have refrained from finishing
what he was about to do.  Even HE knew not to trust things when Toltiir was around.

    Xellos murmured something under his breathe and Josh and
Jamil's vocal cords froze up.  "Don't worry...that is just to
keep you from screaming.  After I finish I will restore them."
He grinned.  'Maybe..'he finished in thought.


    Xellos chanted and raised his hands up into the air.  The
duo then was lifted from the ground.  Then they disappeared
from view.  He pushed his hands toward a pool then dropped.
Although most people could not see them...the two boys were
slowly floating toward the pool Xellos gestured to.

    Just then, two people in white gi's jumped on bamboo
poles opposite each other.  If Xellos did not have his eyes
closed, he would have screamed.  Josh was currently hovering
over Genma, the older man on a pole.  The boy, whose name just happened to be Ranma, kicked Genma into an invisible Josh.  The result being
that Genma fell into the pool beneath him and Josh, who was now visible, fell into a pool 10 feet away.

    "Are we done already?" Ranma asked the ripples in the pool,
as they were in the direction that his father fell.  Suddenly a Panda jumped from the pool, leaping at Ranma.  Avoiding the
panda, Ranma jumped to a different pole.

    "What the heck is that?" Ranma asked the guide.  The guide repeated something to him.  "What!  You never told us about that Buddy!"

    The panda finally hit him into the air.  As Ranma was going
down, he felt as if he had his someone in the air.  He did.  He hit Jamil, who was hovering over the pool.  When Ranma came up she was surprised to see someone else in the spring.

    He felt weird.  Jamil knew what had happened and was furious
at Xellos.  'He didn't tell us about this!' he thought.

    Xellos watched as Josh emerged from the pool he had been hit into.  'Hmmm...Spring of drowned cabbit.  Better than I thought.'  He then cast a spell that unfroze the former boys' vocal cords.  He made a gesture with his hands and stepped though the portal he created.

    After watching Xellos leave, she noticed that the Jusenkyo
guide was talking to him...her.

    "..now you young girl." the guide finished.  Jamil heard a
scream next to him.  He looked at the girl and recognized her at once.  'Ranma...at least now we can follow them to Japan.' he thought.  'Josh!  I forgot about him!' She climbed out of the pool and ran in the direction she saw her friend fall.

    Apparently the guide saw where she was going and called out.
"You! Boy!  Your friend fall there?"   When she nodded yes, he finished up, "He safe in cabin! You go there, no?�  He pointed at the cabin.  He was amazed by how fast she could run.  'Must be best friends.' he thought.

    Jamil was surprised to see what curse Josh had acquired.  She
broke out laughing at the humor.

    "MIYAH!  MIYAH!" yelled the cabbit as it glared at her.  It was obvious that Josh was not happy.  Especially since Plum, the guide's daughter had dressed him in doll clothes.  So here was a cabbit that could be Ryo-Ohki's twin in a bonnet and tutu glaring at a girl laughing so hard she was on the verge of passing out.

    "Ok...ok. That was...is still funny.  You just don't think so huh." Jamil said.

    Josh still didn't know who this girl was, but maybe she could help him?  He wished he knew what happened here.  Nothing had made much sense since he got here.  All he knew at the moment was that he turned into some animal and was dressed up by a girl.  He looked down at himself and almost fainted.  'A TUTU!  If I ever find that girl I'll...I�ll� He couldn't think of anything he could do to her like this so he stopped that train of thought.

    Jamil remembered that Josh didn't watch much Ranma or Tenchi.  'Heh...I could have fun with this.  He doesn't know who I am, he thinks I am just some girl.'  Hs proceeded towards the cabbit.  She took the bonnet and tutu off the cabbit and smiled at its relieved look.  She grinned and picked up Josh.

    "Awwww...you are so CUTE!" she said as she cuddled him.  If she had noticed the blood dripping from the cabbit's nose she wouldn't have continued the masquerade.  She internally cringed at the newest reminder of her current gender.  While Jamil didn't mind his curse, it didn't mean he liked it,  It IS a CURSE right?

    'It's all worth it if I can get him embarrassed.  That is something I haven't been able to do lately.'  As soon as the cabbit was red in the face, she put it on the table in the middle of the room.

    Seeing as Josh's face was covered in fur, yet was still red indicated how embarrassed he was.

    Or was that hentai?

    Anyways, at that moment, a panda came in.  Followed by the guide and a girl, who could be Jamil's twin only the other girl's hair was red, while Jamil's was blue.  The panda pulled out a sign.  [Hello.  Got Curse?]

    "Umm...yeah. Spring of Drowned Girl.  My friend over there fell in Spring of Drowned Cabbit." Jamil replied. 'That's weird.  I thought Genma didn't figure the signs out until later.  Oh well' she shrugged it off.

    'I'm a cabbit?' Josh wondered, still fighting instincts to run from the black & white bear, or a member of the raccoon family if you prefer.

    The redheaded girl walked up to Jamil.  "You're the other one that fell in huh?  I know how you feel, no thanks to my lazy excuse for a father!" Ranma glared at the panda.

    Josh stared at the blue-haired girl, figuring out her identity.  'Is he gonna get it! Well as soon as I can figure out how to change back.'  He thought as he jumped onto Jamil's head.  He didn't know why, he just felt comfortable.

    Jamil felt a presense on her head, and with a check in a mirror, identified it as her friend.  Her MAD friend.  She smiled sheepishly and tried to look like someone no one would expect.  In other words a really cute girl.  When she saw her friend's glare disappear she stopped.  'Good thing too, I might have given myself diabetes acting so sweet.'

    "Ok sirs.  In village near here they have water.  We visit yes?" the guide announced.

    While Jamil was thinking how she and Josh could understand and speak Japanese and Mandarin, the others left.  "Ahhh!  Wait up!" Jamil screamed as she ran through the door trying to catch up.  Josh had to bite down on Jamil's hair so he would not fly off.

    "Here sirs are Amazon village Nichizu.  You very lucky today, they have contest to see village champion,� the guide pointed to a humongous log where two fighters were battling.

    Jamil took the cabbit off of her head and told him, "We are not to go in there.  I do not want any crazy Amazons trying to kill me.  You shouldn't go in either.  Who knows what they would do to you?"

    Jamil wished she could advise Ranma, but she had to cause trouble, which she could do best with all three fianc�es.  He could barely think of all the possibilities of chaos!

    Josh slipped from her hands and flinched.  When he didn't hit the ground he opened up one eye.

    'Ahhhh!  I'm floating!'  He concentrated a little more and saw that he could move in the air.  He opened both eyes.  Jamil was staring at him.

    "Cool." was all she said.  When the cabbit landed on top of her head, Jamil remembered Ryo-okhi always sat on Sasami's head.  She flinched thinking of her current gender.

    When she heard the scream in Mandarin along the lines of, "Why is your panda eating my prize?!" and rushed into the village.  She whispered to Ranma, "That Chinese girl called you a weak little girl."  Jamil then took off as chaos ensued.

    Jamil and Josh watched as Shampoo was having a hard time being alive.  Jamil knew as Ranma had just taken a serious blow to his manhood, that an insult to it would cause trouble.

    He flinched as Ranma kicked Shampoo into the bathing area, then chasing in after her.  Knowing Ranma just landed in hot water (literally), she started laughing as Ranma was chased out by a Shampoo with little hearts in her eyes.  Josh, having better eyesight than Jamil, saw the faint marks of lipstick on Ranma's cheek.

    While Josh had not seen much Ranma, he knew what that meant.  He started laughing as only a cabbit could.  He only stopped when he fell off of Jamil's head.  'Looks like Ranma got the Kiss of Life earlier than usual.'

    Cologne turned towards the gates of her village.  She had sensed magic behind her.  She saw the cabbit, although she did not recognize the animal, she knew that it was the source of it, mainly because she saw it levitating. She slowly walked towards the girl on her cane.

    A figure hiding in the darkness laughed at the chaos, wrote something in a pad, and then ran away from the village.  (No this is not Toltiir)

    Jamil was surprised to see Cologne come to her, that is to say...she was surprised to see an old lady balance on a gnarled staff and hop towards her. It was one thing to see it on TV and on paper, but really _seeing_ was more than amazing.

    "Girl, what animal is that?  Where did you get it?" Cologne was curious about it.

    "First of all, this might answer your questions.  Me and my friend here," she pointed to the cabbit on her head, "just came back from Jusenkyo."

    "The Springs of Sorrow?  Surely you must be kidding."  Jamil just shook her head, rattling Josh in the process.  "So...you fell into Spring of Drowned Girl, but what spring did your friend fall in?"

    "Spring of Drowned Cabbit, Great Elder.  HE fell in at the same time that I did." She replied.  "Ranma over there," she pointed to the boy Shampoo had caught, and was currently cuddling, "fell in the same pool as me, at the same time."  Jamil didn't feel like telling Cologne why she happened to be there, and hoped she wouldn't ask.

    "Ok sonny-boy.  Can I interest you in finding a bride?"  Cologne asked.  Although the newly turned girl was not strong in the way of Martial Arts, she could tell that Jamil had a great magical potential.  Also her aura was tainted by something she recognized.  'Hmmm, a follower of Toltiir?  Interesting...'

    Jamil's eyes widened.  "Umm...no. That�s ok.  OkgoodbyeIgottagonow!"  Cologne was fairly surprised to see a cloud of dust where the girl had previously been.

    Unconsciously, Jamil had been communicating with Josh telepathically to help her run, so when she was 50 feet in the air above Cologne she was surprised.
"AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Putmedown! Putmedown! PUT ME DOWN!" she screamed.

    Inside, Josh was laughing, but complied anyways.  The little green-eyed Cabbit let go, letting Jamil land on Ranma, knocking the two out in the process.  From his point of view, he thought that Shampoo would think his friend was a rival.  'Ouch...that has got to hurt.'

    1 Month later.....

    Soun Tendou was sitting in front of a table, reading a postcard.  "At last! The day has come!  I will tell my daughters of this immediately.  Tears streaming down his face, he stood up, and called for his first daughter.  "Kasumi!"

    "Yes father?" replied an girl in an apron walking out of the kitchen.  She was about nineteen years of age, although the innocence on her face made you want to believe otherwise.

    "Get ready for a family meeting while I get your sisters." said her father. "Okay" said Kasumi as she slipped back into the kitchen.

    Soun walked upstairs and into his middle daughter's room.  "Nabiki, get ready for a family meeting, I have an announcement to make." he said as he went to the room next door.

    "Akane.....where is that girl?" said Soun as he turned around to see Nabiki.

    "She is probably down in the dojo, I'll get her father." Nabiki said as she walked down the stairs.

    Nabiki walked in her family's dojo and saw her sister breaking bricks with her hands.  "You know sis.  That is why the all boys think you are weird." she said to her younger sister, who stopping her hand in mid air.

    "Nabikiiiii!" said the youngest Tendou in an annoyed voice, "The world doesn't revolve around...BOYS!".

    "Then you won't be interested in what daddy has to say." she said as she left the dojo.

    Akane stopped to think about it and followed her sister.

    WOO HOO!  The trouble starts!  How will Ranma escape Shampoo's love grip?  Will Josh figure out how to reverse the curse?  What about Ryouga?  What happened to him?  And who is that shrouded figure?  Some of these questions might be answered next chapter.
