Five years ago, I started a series of fanfics... tentavily called Misery's
End. Each chapter or section would focus on a specific character from Ranma
1/2 as they dealt with the news of an upcoming wedding. Instead of dealing
with the issue through Ranma and Akane, it's effects on those around them
would be used instead.
I wrote three... Uses of The Knife, the story of Ukyou; Memories Mask,
Mousses's story; and finally, Suicide Blast... the story of Ryouga.
It was the last one that I felt the most connection to, the one that had the
most anology to my own life, the caged mongrel whose rabid and ulitimatly
futile attempts at the cage, that reveberated the loudest.
Ryouga discovered a new and powerful use of his depression blast, strong
enough to defeat his truest enemy... the dark and lonely world.
It's been awhile, I'm sure any and all bets and pools on whether I'd finish
the damn thing have already long since paid off to the cycnics. Heh, not too
long ago, I'd have agreed. Then, a few nights ago, inspiration struck, made
sure I was tall enough, and then lashed me into a bucket seat for a ride
Toad would never make without losing most of his slimey epidermis...
Suicide Blast, chapter five... the finale... is finished.
The prereaders have taken their hunks of muscle and meat, and spit it out
pristine and red, and on July 27th, my birthday... there will be an...
ending.
For those who have stuck with this series through the past few years, get
ready... for those who have simply stuck through this meandering, self
indulgent announcement, I hope you enjoy the show...
