I do recall at least one mention of Sailor Moon merchandise vs. Sailor V
merchandise - one was outselling the other, to the dissapointment of the
outsold senshi. I think it was in the R season.
The mind boggles.
"I don't CARE about your underwear line, Usagi. We all had a deal. I get
the computer game franchise, Mako-chan gets sports equipment, Rei-chan
get accessories, Ami-chan gets endorsements, you get hygiene
products..."
"And REALLY, Usagi, did you really think that sanitary pads were good
for our image? Couldn't you just stick with shampoo?"
"Thank you, Ami, but as I was saying, we divide up clothing by article,
and you've got shirts. Be happy, they're a great property. Trust me,
I've been doing this longer than any of you."
"YEAH! Sailor Mars panties ONLY, Dumpling-head!"
"Stop being so mean, Rei-chan!"
This concept of self-merchandising has grasped my imagination all out of
proportion to it's possible significance...
