The first issue of Spiderman was before electronic fund transfers were
as popular as they are now. In addition, US banks are not
anonymity-friendly...but Minako wouldn't use US banks. She has the
opposite end of this spectrum available to her: Swiss banks.
Ok what did happen to Minako's parents then. Is she a never born
or an orphan or a time traveler or what. Now I am curious about
Makoto's parents, after all Usagi and the rest of the Senshi's
memories were affected one way for sure. How about two ways.
Maybe they all took a three hour tour and ended up on Gilligan's
Isle.
I deliberately left that as a mystery. But if you really want an
answer...
One possible way out is for the parents to have existed as duplicate
individuals, up until around the time Usagi first became Sailor Moon.
Then, they vanished from Minako's house - thus the missing persons
report. Once Minako and Artemis figured out what happened, Minako
cancelled the report and began living on her own, already used to
marketing Sailor V but now given a more desparate edge by the fact that
it was paying for her life, as opposed to just the luxuries of how she
lived.
