This is a common problem in fanfic, characters that aren't just more
caring, sharing and supportive than the original versions, but also more
caring, et cetera than is believable for anyone. C'mon, Ash is a 10-13
year old boy! Where did this mutant maturity come from?
Ash, at least in the anime, has proven he can be very mature. Take the time
when he thought that Pikachu wanted to stay with its own kind. He hated the
thought, cried, and such, but he was willing to face it.
Still, I will agree that Ash's words aren't quite. . .right. No matter how
mature he is, he somewhere around 10-13, and his vocabulary should reflect
this.
