Hmmm. Extrapolating characters this far out, making them go through the
necessary changes, but still keeping them somewhat true to their orgins is
difficult at best.
Yep. After several thousand years, they're pretty much either exactly the
same or completly different. :)
Especially when the audience isn't completely aware of
all the events that occurred over time. (4000 years would make one
looooooooong fic for someone as prolific as you. ^_^)
Even I can't write that quickly. :) Besides, the precise details weren't
necessary for what this tale was about.
At any rate, you
did a good job, and I think the characters were true to form. Deedlit
loved
Parn, yes, but being a High Elf, she wasn't one of the most passionate of
folk. I can definitely see her being like this in the distant future.
I see it as a distinct possiblity. Of course I could have written it the
other way with her still longing for him after all those thousands of years,
but I wanted to show the other side of the coin, so to speak, even if in a
way it does belittle the events in Rot LW by having it completely forgotten
by the remaining participants.
I
agree on your take on the whole 'Eternal Love' thing as well. If people
lived forever, the divorce rate would eventually hit 100% :)
Agree. One of the things this tale was about was love being dealt with in
more 'practical' terms than 'romantic' ones. A different sort of thing for
me to do. It was fun using a different theme from the ones I usually employ.
Thanks for the comments.
