"Ano...Lina? I know things were different in the time of the ancient
mages, but I can't believe they'd title a spellbook 'The Sweat Manual'."
"Sweat Manual? GIMME!" Lina lunged for the book in Gourry's hands,
snatching it away and gazing with awe upon her prize.
Gourry shrugged, then continued scanning the library, marvelling again
at the existence of a structure so old, no one knew its name. "You'd
think it had a 'Create Feast' spell or something."
"That'd be nice, but I think that's more the Blood Book's style. Keep
an eye out for that one too, ok? Actually, this one might possibly be
useful for you, but I get first dibs on it."
"You know I'm no good with magic."
"Not the three known types, true. This is a new type, kind of like the
shamanistic elements but not really. It's supposedly elements based off
of the body fluids of those who guide the universe. Sweat, for strength
and endurance. Blood, for vitality and sacrifice. Tears, for emotions
and other facets of the mind. And...The Other."
"The Other?"
"Every reference I've found to it seemed almost embarassed to give its
name." Lina blushed. "I can understand if it is what I *think* it is."
"And what do you think it is?"
"Well...let's just say its powers have to do with sexual prowess. I
think Naga stumbled onto an artifact or spell from this domain; she
couldn't possibly be as large as she is without some enhancement."
"Really? Just a moment..." Gourry scanned through the shelves. "I
think I may have...here we go!" He pulled another book off.
"You already found it?"
"'The Saliva Sampler'. That's what you were after, right?"
Lina took a few seconds to recover from her facefault. "Ok, so there
was a fifth element..."
