Mystery Fusion #6



 A man walked down the darkened streets of a seedier district of Tokyo,
eyes keenly scanning for something... or someone... to pique his
curiosity.

 He ignored the drug-dealers, instead focusing on the merchants of the
flesh; they were the ones that sold services that appealed to him.
Smiling to himself, he absently rubbed at the stubble on his chin,
seeing another man on the street corner.

 The other man was dressed in the norm for his profession, in this
district. A pimp. Heavy coat, gloves, dark glasses and a generally
well-groomed appearance. But that wasn't what attracted the first man's
attention. What captured his attention was the girl at his side,
standing still, dressed up cute-as-a-button in a schoolgirl's outfit.

 He ogled her for a moment, taking in the smooth, pale flesh of her legs
and her face, lovely without a trace of makeup. He leered, noting that
her blouse was partially undone, allowing him to see much more rounded
cleavage than was decent.

 Frowning, he noticed the blank stare that she rewarded him with, when
he was instead hoping for a coquettish grin, or a seductive smirk.
"Hey," he began, hoping the girl would warm to him slightly. "What's
your name, baby?"

 She cocked her head to one side, staring at him silently. After a
moment, the pimp offered, "Her name is Rei."

 The man nodded slightly, his eyes locked firmly on Rei's. "My name's
Kaji, baby. What's up with you?"

 The pimp stared at Kaji, mimicking the girl's impassive expression.

 Shifting his shoulder's uncomfortably, Kaji tried his hand at humor,
"So, Rei-baby... you busy tonight?"

 The girl stared at Kaji, merely blinking, like an expensive and
beautifully crafted doll.

 Licking his lips, Kaji coughed nervously. "Uh... what's a nice girl
like you doing out on a night like this?"

 Both Rei and her pimp continued to stare at Kaji, not reacting.

 Unnerved, Kaji turned towards the pimp, plaintively asking, "What's
going on here?"

 Blinking, the pimp stated, "Gendo must pimp Rei out to 30,000 people
before Gendo can complete the Human Instrumentality Project. Will you
buy the services of Gendo's ladies, and help Gendo complete the Human
Instrumentality Project?"
