Heyo!
Does this repost mean that we're going to get a new chapter soon?
Anyway, one nitpick to make:
Intellectually, Mamoru was aware that what he'd probably wind up
doing with his life was sitting on a throne next to Usako-- who by
then wouldn't be Usako any more, technically-- and wearing a mask
most of the time. (Why King Endymion wore that thing habitually, he
didn't know, but his short trip to a distant future suggested that
that would be the case. Perhaps it wasn't a mask, but mask shaped
glasses? After a thousand years, he could go nearsighted after
all...)
As an ex-optical lab tech / optician, I can say with complete confidence
that becoming nearsighted is NOT what he'd have to worry about. It's
farsightedness. When a person with normal vision gets older, it gets hard
to see things that are close up. That's why so many people end up needing
reading glasses.
It's because around age 40, the lens of the eye (which never stops
growing; the problem is, it grows by adding layers on the inside, not the
outside) has so many layers to it that it loses flexibility, which it needs
to focus on things that are within arm's reach.
The practical effect is that people who have normal vision become
farsighted (presbyopic), people who are already farsighted get worse, but us
nearsighted people have our revenge: our ability to see actually _improves_
a bit, because it counteracts the existing problem.
Ja mata,
