Hi,
I just wanted to say hello, since it feels weird to not say _something_ before my fics begins...
Anyway, let's get on with the program already in progress.

Fragments from Chapter Infinite
Walking slowly, Ryouga slowly approached the prone form of
Genma, who seemed to breath slower with every breath.
The panda, lying alone under a thick, tall, and autumn tree,
gradually moved its head to face the boy. His eyes moved
towards the prewritten signs beside him, which lay scattered,
facing downwards.
Bending to pick a sign up, the words Ryouga read, after
flipping it to face him, seemed to transform his shocked
expression to one of sadness. "Ryouga, my child has been
lured into a trap. She cannot win. Please go after her, and
save her."
Letting the words sink in, Ryouga looked up, and saw trees
ahead fallen and splintered. Like a glacier, he began to move
forward, slowly gaining speed as a locomotive would.

"Mister Panda?" Nodoka ran towards the animal. "What
happened?"
The panda, whose shallow breaths tore into Nodoka's heart,
seemed to smile and look into her eyes.
She picked a paw up, and brought it to her cheek. "Your
eyes..." She brought a hand to the animal's face, and ran her
hand along its muzzle to the throat, gently feeling beneath
her fingers, the warm fur beneath. "They remind me of my dear
husband..."
The panda had fall its other paw onto a sign, which Nodoka
looked at after watching the life in the panda's eyes fade
away. She lifted the sign, and then gasped.
"Dear Nodoka, you made me so happy." Breathing slowly, Nodoka
read more, "These are the words of your husband. He wanted
you to know this, before the end."
"Genma..." Tears fell onto the panda's chest, which she laid
her head onto.
Her eyes were closed when a sudden glow surrounded the
animal. Opening them, she found her head not on fur, but a
man's chest.
"Your tears...one last breath..."
Nodoka looked to see old eyes, from a long abandoned past,
searching her face.
"I am happier now, than ever..." the man exclaimed in a
hoarse whisper. "I can look on you with my own eyes, one last
time..." He struggled to bring his hand to the lady's face.
After stroking a bit of hair from covering her eyes, he
slowly said, "Without you, my life was too empty..."
Slowly, Nodoka lowered her...husband's head to the earth.
Gradually, she lowered her hand, which held Genma's hand,
from over her heart to Genma's own.

Rubble was the earth he walked.
The closer he was to the girl, her body lying lifeless alone
in a blood pool, the tighter the grip his heart had on his
soul.
Reaching her, he stooped to pick her up. However, she pushed
him away, and said, "No, I'm a guy, damn it...Just let me die
like one..."
Again, he tried to lift her, but her hands pushed him back,
but he wouldn't quit, and soon he cradled her in his arms.
Tears ran down her face. "Damn you Ryouga..."
"Damn you..."
"Damn..."
"You..."

Author's Notes:
These scenes are the inspiration for Differing Waters. As the
reader can see, they are darker and angstier than the story
they've inspired.
Anyway, with this out of the way, I should be able to finish
up Chapter Five of Comfort in the Eye of Chaos, which is
under construction.
