[FFML] [tenchi][thermodynamics][SPAMFIC] Mpemba effect

I was bouncing around the web reading thermodynamic journals and science
magazines articles along with FAQ files when I came across the Mpemba
effect.

This give me an idea for a tenchi crossover that I think I can say has probably never been done before and hopefully will never be done again.

CAN NOT! Washu yawned as she made her way from the lab CAN TOO!
it was 4:30am, and she had just spent the last
CAN NOT! 3 days carefully recording all the resonant CAN TOO!
vibration modes of a 13 dimensional super
CAN NOT! strings. CAN TOO!

CAN NOT! Washu paused and CAN NOT! let Ryoko's energy CAN TOO!
sword pass harmlessly in front of her
CAN NOT! contining between the two yelling ladies she CAN TOO!
opened the refrigerator door and pulled a
CAN NOT! bottle of grape juice out unscrewing the lid CAN TOO!
and taking a drink washu yawned and turned to
CAN NOT! go to bed taking a step forward she brushed CAN TOO!
against the back side of Ayeka's force field
CAN NOT! just as ryoko's energy sword slammed into the CAN TOO!
CAN NOT! front . CAN TOO!

CAN not Washu Rubed her numbed arm where the energy CAN TOOoops

had arced off the surface of ayeka's forcefield and glared at the two
sheepish women standing before her. Washu now fully awake for the first
time since leaving her lab glared at the two and said"WHY MUST YOU FIGHT
OVER TENCHI ALL THE TIME!".

After a few seconds of silence ayeka said in a low voice"We weren't
fighting over tenchi, we were arguing about a question tenchi asked us." Washu blinked several time and finally turned to ryoko with a questioning look, ryoko rolled her eyes and said"Tenchi asked us if hot water could
ever freeze faster than cold water under identical conditions? and this
chowder head said that it could". Ayeka shouted back"YOU IDIOT I know it can when sassumi, me and mom use to have our brandoo berry slushy
making races mom always won until she told us the secret. It was to always heat the berry juices before you freeze it for the slushies."

Washu stared at the two girls and blinked owlishly finally shrugging her
shoulders she called up her computer terminal and started typing giving
her patented laugh she said"I'll settle this once and for all my
computers thermodynamic models have been tested under an extreme range
of conditions from temperatures and pressures where metallic hydrogen exist to the core of a star and they have held up for the last 20000 years." Royoko and ayeka glanced at each other and on a silent cue they both covered thier ears as washu did her dance and sang her song.

Finally 30 seconds later as her computer screen flashed washu stopped her
dance and said"See my models say that given identical conditions the cooler water will freeze first."
Royoko stuck her tong out at ayeka and started to say"I TOLD YOU SO"
when she was interupted by a very sheepish voice saying"Washu I think
your model is wrong we studied the Mpemba effect last week in physics
and all our experiments showed that hot water can freeze faster than
cool."

Washu laughed and said your mistaken tenchi my models can't be wrong.
Tenchi hung his head and said"Oh I wonder why all our experiment kept
coming up with the wrong results?"

Washu blinked as what tenchi said soaked in and just before the boy left
the room she sighed and said"Tenchi I can't ever remember running an
actual test to see if what you are saying is true, I'll try one and see
what you were doing wrong and tell you tomorrow."

FOUR WEEKS LATER

Tenchi carefully made his way into washu's lab she hadn't been seen in
nearly a month ever since that fateful mpemba discussion.
Tenchi nose wrinkled as he smelled a terrible smell, reluctantly he
followed his nose to a table where a dual stream of liguid filled tubes
one set of which was heated were passing into a mist enshrouded chamber.
Tenchi stared in awe at washu's industrial version of the test that they
had done over a month ago while they were studying thermo dynamics and
the mpemba effect in physics. A moan caused tenchi's eyes to track down and in a darken corner of the room sitting sprawled in a chair was a filthy washu her hair was limp and her cloths were covered in what appear to be multicoloured stains of variouse fruit juices, only a few of which he recognised.

Carefully Tenchi approached washu's moaning form and lightly poked her, washu let out a startled yell and looked with unfocused eyes at
tenchi after several seconds she laughed and said"Oh its you tenchi I
was having a nightmare about being stuck in a universe where hot water
could freeze before cold water." Tenchi smiled and said"you mean the
mpemba effect?"

Tenchi stepped back bumping into the experiment table and watched in
confusion as washu surged to her feet and stared with wild eyes at him and the experiment clinking away behind him.

Tenchi was getting ready to run when washu's eyes rolled up into her
head and tenchi had to scramble to keep her from hitting the floor.

"Mpemba effect"
I found this in a Physics/thermodynamics FAQ it told how in 1963 a high
school student named mpemba who "rediscovered", while making icecream in a lab that hot liguids could freeze faster, when he mentioned this to his science teacher and asked how this was possible the teacher told him he was mistaken and started to make fun of him when he said it happened every time he tried it. The teacher told him he was living in his own
mpemba universe and not the real one, for the rest of that year every
mistake he made was called a mpemba and laughed at by the teacher and
students.

Mpemba later asked a visiting physics professor why hot water could
freeze faster than cold, the professor said it wasn't possible, but he
would try it and see.

Dr. Osborne had a lab assistant run a experiment to test mpemba's
assertions, and later Dr. Osborne become interested when his lab assistant reported that the hot water kept freezing first, but he would keep repeating the experiment until he got the "RIGHT" results.

In 1969 Mpemba and Dr. Osborne published a paper detailing thier
research into hot water freezing quicker than cold water, and it is
interesting to note that even today no scientist or research group has
completely successfully explained how or why hot water can freeze faster than cold.
