In 1969 Mpemba and Dr. Osborne published a paper detailing thier
research into hot water freezing quicker than cold water, and it is
interesting to note that even today no scientist or research group
has
completely successfully explained how or why hot water can freeze faster
than cold.

Actually they did figure it out it's because that water at a higher temp
is more unstable than water at a lower temp there fore when you freeze
it it loses it's energy faster than cold water. I learned that from my
highschool science teacher.
