As soon as she did so, she collapsed and started crying. "Mamo-chan broke up with me and that brat showed up. I wish... I wish I could go somewhere else. Somewhere where I didn't have to deal with Mamo-chan, Youma. Someplace where I could live happily and forget the pain for a while." The brooch holding the silver crystal started flashing silver. After a few seconds it filled the booth with a silver glow and Usagi was gone. ------------------------- In another world, a small green creature looked up as a silver hole was torn in the sky. Its eyes widened as a blonde human fell from the rip. It quickly ran over to where the girl had fallen and winced a bit. The girl had hit the back of her head on a large rock. "Ooh. Where am I?" the girl asked, as she got to her knees. Looking around she spotted the green creature. It looked like a small bipedal dinosaur. Smiling at the creature, "Hi there, my name's Usagi...." Usagi trailed off as she rubbed the back of her head. "I can't remember my last name or anything else. Ouch," she muttered, and pulled her hand from the back of her head and stared the blood on her palm. "I don't know who I am," she said, crying into her knees. The small creature looked at her sympathy and tugged at the bottom of her skirt. Looking up, Usagi asked, "What is it?" "Tar-tar-larvitar," It said, tugging at the skirt even harder. "I think you want me to follow you. Is that right?" The creature nodded. Usagi got up and followed the strange lizard to the top of a hill. At the bottom of the hill was the outskirts of a small city. A sign was posted near the top of the hill. Usagi frowned as she read the sign. "White City. Where hopes come true." Seeing no other alternative, she shrugged and headed towards the city. She shook her head as waves of vertigo hit her. The small dinosaur followed her. As she entered the city, Usagi saw a lot of strange creatures. "Stop." Usagi turned and saw a woman in a police uniform approaching her. "Can I help you officer?" she asked. "Is that your Pokemon?" the woman asked. "Er. What?" Usagi began and grabbed her forehead as a wave of blackness hit her. She saw the concerned face of the officer before she passed out. --------------------------------------- Flickers of images passed through Usagi's mind as she dragged herself back into consciousness. She rubbed the back of her head and felt a thick scab under her hair. Opening her eyes, she saw that she was in a hospital and that the officer who she was talking to was there. "Hello. My name is Officer Jenny. Are you feeling all right?" "Yes," Usagi replied, as she recalled the question before she passed out. "What is a Pokemon?" A strange look came over Jenny's face and she kneeled beside the bed and looked into Usagi's eyes. "You don't know?" Shaking her head, Usagi explained, "I can only remember my name. I can't remember my family's name or anything else." "Amnesia," Jenny muttered to herself. Looking at Usagi, she asked, "What is your name and do you have anything that might give you a clue as to who you are?" "My name is Usagi. The only thing I have is a pen and this brooch," came the reply. Usagi opened the brooch and both women had their breath taken away by the sight of the silver crystal inside it. Staring at the crystal, Usagi said, "I remember this. I have had it for a while. It holds some clue as to who I am. I can't recall anything else." Jenny tapped her bottom lip and said, "Close it up and hide it. No sense tempting thieves. Okay, when did you first meet this Larvitar?" Usagi saw the small green dino that had followed her was in the room with Jenny. "Larvitar? I saw her...." "TAR!" Jenny smiled and corrected, "This Larvitar is male." "Oh. I first saw him when I woke up. He pointed me in the direction of this city." "I see. He just followed you. I'm going to need to get pictures of you and your fingerprints. I'll see if your file is in the database." "Fine," Usagi said tiredly. "You didn't answer me. What's a Pokemon?" Jenny placed her hand on top of the Larvitar's head. "This Larvitar is a Pokemon. I'll have Nurse Joy go over basic Pokemon data for you, as well as show you pictures of the more common Pokemon." "Thank you." Jenny shook her head as she left. *She seems like a nice girl. I hope I can help her.* -------------------------------------- After Officer Jenny explained things to the hospital staff, they agreed to have a Nurse Joy teach Usagi about Pokemon. After a couple of hours Usagi was familiar with the more common Pokemon that could be found. The Larvitar that had followed her refused to leave her side. Joy shrugged and registered it as Usagi's Pokemon. Usagi smiled as she patted Larvitar's head. She was still lying down and the Pokemon was asleep on the floor next to her bed. She looked up and saw Officer Jenny enter the room holding what appeared to be a yellow cell phone. "Hi, Officer Jenny. Any luck?" Jenny shook her head and replied sadly, "I'm sorry Usagi, but there are no records of you anywhere." "I see," Usagi said softly, as tears welled up in her eyes. Sitting down on the bed, Jenny patted Usagi's hand reassuringly. "Don't worry. You'll find out who you are. I'm sure of it." "Thanks," came a choked whisper. "Now for a surprise. Since we can't find your records, we had to make a new one up for you. I'd say that you are about 14 or 15. That is definitely old enough to go on a Pokemon journey." "Pokemon journey?" "Joy explained that to you, didn't she?" "Yes, but I don't have a Pokemon." Jenny smiled at the girl. "Yes you do. This Larvitar." Said Pokemon woke up and looked at the two women on the bed curiously. Looking at Larvitar, Usagi said, "Larvitar as my starter Pokemon? Are you sure?" Larvitar happily nodded his head. "Larvitar-tar-tar-tar-larvi!" "I think Larvitar wants to," Jenny replied Usagi looked from Pokemon to officer and nodded. "I'll do it." Handing Usagi the cell phone, Jenny said, "This is your Pokedex. It has information regarding a lot of the Pokemon you will encounter." Taking the Pokedex, Usagi opened the device and was startled when it spoke. "I am Cyclo a Pokedex programmed for Usagi, a Pokemon Trainer operating out of White City." "Cyclo?" Usagi asked. "Short for encyclopedia," Jenny answered, she quickly explained how it operated and handed some Pokeballs to the girl. "Here are your Pokeballs. Any Pokemon beyond six that you catch will be sent to Professor Spruce, White City's Pokemon researcher. He'll be stopping by later to meet you. You are the first Trainer he will be taking care of Pokemon for. The rest of the time, he takes care of the Pokemon for the Challenge Cup." "Challenge Cup?" Jenny shook her head and answered, "Don't worry about it. You aren't skilled enough yet, to even think about doing that." "Oh. Okay," Usagi murmured. "I've talked to the doctors. Other than your memory loss, you are in fairly good health. The only reason you fainted was that you had hit your head and walked a fair distance. You will be discharged tomorrow morning. And then you can start on your journey." Looking at Larvitar, Usagi said, "You need a name. I can imagine getting trampled by a bunch of you if I called 'here, Larvitar'. Let's see...." Usagi frowned as she tried to come up with a name. She flipped the Pokedex open and pointed it at Larvitar. "Larvitar. This Rock/Ground Pokemon is born deep underground. It can't emerge until it has consumed the soil around it." Usagi muttered, "That wasn't much help. Rock? Hmmm." "Tar?" Usagi smiled at her Pokemon. "How about Obelisk for a name?" Larvitar happily said, "Tar-larvitar-larvitar." "Glad you liked it. After Professor Spruce talks to me, we'll get some sleep." "Tar." "Obelisk," Jenny said with a smile, as she stood up. "Interesting name, and it fits that Pokemon quite well." Usagi watched as the officer left the room. About an hour later, a green haired man wearing a white lab-coat and glasses walked in. He stood about two meters and carried a palm computer. "Greetings, Usagi. I'm Professor David Spruce." "Hi. It's nice to meet you." Professor Spruce looked over at Obelisk and smiled. "A Larvitar. That's a fairly rare Pokemon. It should serve you well as a starter." "Tar." Obelisk nodded. Usagi said. "Thank you. Professor Spruce? Jenny said that if I caught more than six Pokemon, the extras would be sent to you." "That's correct. By League rules, a Trainer can only have six Pokemon with him or her. They can freely switch the Pokemon they are carrying. But as to the question you are going to ask, extra Pokemon are teleported to where you got your Pokedex. In your case, my lab. Researchers such as myself study the Pokemon you send to us. While they are with us, we feed and take care of them." "I see. You don't experiment on them, do you?" Spruce laughed, "No. We aren't cruel. We just take care of them and watch them in as close to their natural habitats as possible." "Sort of like a zoo-keeper," Usagi mumbled to herself "It's been a while since I heard that term applied to us. I wonder where you heard it from." "Er. I don't know." Spruce shook his head. "Don't worry about it. Your memory will return sooner or later." "I hope so," Usagi said in a slightly choked voice. "Since your memory is shot, let's go over rules and regulations." Professor Spruce explained about Gyms, badges, leagues, and the rules that all the leagues had in common. "The six Pokemon limit was set to prevent a trainer from being overwhelmed by sheer numbers. Such as a Charizard having to deal with two hundred Caterpies. It is also easier for a Trainer to keep track of what is in each Pokeball, if the number is limited." "Why six?" "A lot of competitions have a three on three match. one loss. one win. one tiebreaker. Six allows for two competitions. One right after the other." "Oh." Spruce looked out the window and saw it was getting dark. "I'll let you get some sleep. You have a big day ahead of you." Usagi nodded and smiled as she saw Obelisk was fast asleep already. She noticed that Spruce had already left the room. She whispered to herself, "A Pokemon journey sounds like fun. It'll take my mind off my memory loss. I probably wasn't that important anyway." ------------------ Chapter 02 Usagi smiled as she stepped out into the morning light. Her discharge from the hospital went smoothly. She was given a pack that Professor Spruce had provided for her. It had a few changes of clothes and a few days of rations, as well as a map. She watched as Obelisk walked over to a small boulder. A look of surprise crossed her face as her Pokemon started eating the rock. She just stared as Obelisk had eaten the rock down into a stone bench. "Obelisk, what if the people around here wanted the rock?" "Larvitar," Obelisk said, hanging his head in shame. Officer Jenny walked over to the pair and said, "Don't worry about this rock. But, Usagi is right. You will have to watch what rocks you eat." "Vitar," Obelisk agreed. Jenny addressed Usagi. "Why don't you put Obelisk in a Pokeball?" "Err. I hadn't thought about it." Jenny rolled her eyes and explained, "Most Pokemon don't mind being in Pokeballs. But, there are some that dislike being inside one. A few Pikachu come to mind." "How do I find out what Pokemon dislike being in Pokeballs?" "Just ask them," Jenny replied. "Obelisk, do you mind being in a Pokeball?" The Larvitar cocked his head in thought and shook his head. "See. Just take one of your empty Pokeballs and toss it at Obelisk." Usagi did so and watched in wonder as her Pokemon dissolved into red light and was pulled inside the red and white ball. The ball snapped shut and flew back towards Usagi. She caught the ball out of reflex. Jenny said, "I hope you have a pleasant Pokemon journey." "Thanks, Officer Jenny," Usagi said, as she hiked out of town. -------------------------------- Near a cliff face, Usagi sat down and opened her Pokedex. Earlier, she had brought Obelisk out to deal with a few Spearow that had attacked her. Usagi mumbled, "Spearow. I could catch one, but it doesn't feel right for me." She stared up the side of the cliff and shook her head ruefully. She was about to open her pack when a sound caught her attention. "Meowth!" Usagi carefully watched as a wild Meowth approached her. She pointed the Pokedex at it. "Meowth. The cat Pokemon. This Pokemon collects round shiny objects. Its main attack is Pay Day." Usagi noticed that the Meowth standing in front of her was a lot leaner than the picture in the Pokedex. She grabbed at the Pokeball that held Obelisk and tossed it at the Meowth that was leaping towards her. "Larvitar," Obelisk said as he appeared in a flash of white light. The Meowth was taken aback by the appeance of the green dino. It back up and concentrated. Obelisk was hit with small coins. The Larvitar shook off the attack and smiled wickedly. Usagi called out, "Obelisk, Bite." Obelisk was happy to comply and bit Meowth on the tail. Usagi saw that the wild Meowth wouldn't take too much more without fainting. She grabbed a Pokeball and tossed it. The wild Pokemon was pulled inside the ball. Usagi and Obelisk watched as the ball rocked back and forth as the Meowth struggled to get out. Finally the ball came to a rest and Usagi had caught her second Pokemon. "Good work, Obelisk," Usagi said, while picking up the Pokeball and grabbing some Pokemon food out of her pack. She threw the Pokeball, releasing the Meowth. Usagi kneeled down and held out the food to the Meowth. "Hi. My name's Usagi. I have the feeling that you are hungry and that's why you attacked me. Here." Meowth looked at the proffered food and took it warily. Usagi just held her smile and watched as her newest Pokemon ate the food. She felt a tug on her skirt. "Larvitar." "What is it Obelisk?" Obelisk handed Usagi the coins it was hit with. Usagi looked at the money and opened her Pokedex. "Pay Day. Meowth's signature attack. This attack produces coins that are used as money. The metal in Pay Day produced coins is essential in producing Pokeballs." Usagi smiled. "Well that solves any monetary problems I might have." "Meowth?" "Sorry. I was just talking to myself," Usagi said, as she checked her Pokedex on Meowth's gender. "Female. For a reason that seems right. So, how about Felis for your name?" The Meowth nodded her acceptance of her name and finshed her food. Obelisk had eaten a nearby rock into a small statue of himself standing over a defeated Meowth. "Obelisk," Usagi said, shaking her head. "I don't think Felis appreciates that." Felis took a look at the statue and rolled her eyes. She sent a few attacks of Pay Day at it. Fearing a fight, Usagi quickly recalled both of her Pokemon. After doing so, she took the time to pick up the coins that Felis had produced. Usagi finally sat down and started eating her lunch. While doing so, she pulled out her map and read it. "White City. This mountain is Mt. Silver. I'm registerd as Johto so the nearest city is Blackthorn City. I think I'll pass on that gym and head further south. Professor Spruce said that most Trainers start at New Bark Town and work their way through the gyms. I'll have to stop there to get my Pokemon healed. The nearest Gym to New Bark Town is the one in Violet City." Usagi sighed as she put the map away. She pulled out her brooch, opened it up, and stared at the crystal intently. The thought that Felis and Obelisk need healing was formost on her mind, especially Felis. The silver crystal started flashing and Usagi felt energy emenate from the gem. Looking down, she saw that the Pokeballs conatining her Pokemon had changed. The red on the balls had been replaced by silver. A golden crescent moon was emblazoned on the silver part of the balls. In the crescent moon, written in silver letters were the Pokemon's names. "What?" Usagi frantically grabbed the two balls and released her Pokemon. Usagi smiled in releif as she saw that her Pokemon were uninjured. Taking a closer look at them, she noticed that Felis was no longer looking so ragged and both looked refreshed. The two Pokemon looked around curiously and Usagi explained what happened. She recalled her Pokemon and tapped the silver crystal. "Healing powers and customizing Pokeballs. I wonder what else you can do. Well, I'll figure it out later. It's time for me to hit the road again." Usagi stood up and shouldered her pack. Pocketing her brooch, she headed south towards Blackthorn City. Even though her Pokemon were healed, she still needed supplies. "Money has been taken care of. Now, I really should think about transport across water." Usagi hummed a tune as she walked along. Even though her Pokemon were in their balls, she felt comfortable that she had two friends with her as she traveled. --------------------------------- A day after she had caught Felis, Usagi arrived in Blackthron City. She found the nearest Pokemart and stocked up on food and supplies. She also bought a sleeping bag. She didn't want to spend another night without some protection against cold nights. Looking at her depleted funds, she realized that she would need to have Felis use Pay Day later on. The store clerk said, "If you are here to challenge Clair, don't bother. She's off training deep in Dragon's Den. She won't be back for a while." Usagi replied, "Thanks, but I was just stopping here on my way to Violet City." "That's a fair distance. Where are you from?" Usagi replied, "I got my Pokedex in White City." "Just starting out," the clerk mused. "You wouldn't stand a chance against Clair. She uses Dragon types. You are going to need strong Pokemon to fight her." "I see. Thanks for telling me. By the way, what Pokemon is best for travelling over water?" The clerk shrugged and responded, "Lapras. You won't find one up here. You might down near Violet City or in Union Cave, but they are rare." Usagi opened her Pokedex and looked up the entry on Lapras. She heard the description and nodded. "It looks like its a great Pokemon to have," Usagi said. "Thank you." Usagi left the Pokemart and headed over to the Pokemon Center to make sure here Pokemon were at full health, silver crystal not withstanding. As Usagi entered the Pokemon Center, she stared in shock at the person standing behind the counter. "Nurse Joy?" Usagi asked in disbelief. "How did you get here so fast?" Nurse Joy looked at the newcommer and smiled. "You must have met one of my relatives. We all look alike and are named Joy." "Uh? Er?" Nurse Joy said with some amusemnet, "You'll get used to it. You must be a new Trainer." Usagi numbly nodded and held out her Pokedex. Nurse Joy took the Pokedex and pulled up the identification screen. She nodded as she got the information. "Usagi. My sister called and told me that you had lost your memory. I guess she forgot to tell you about our family or Jenny's family." "Officer Jenny's family?" "Yep. All her female relatives look alike and all are named Jenny." "How can you tell.....um....er," Usagi stammered. Joy said, "We just can. Since you came in here, you must have Pokemon. Let me take a look at them and get them fully refreshed." Usagi, still slightly in a daze, handed Joy her two Pokeballs. Joy took them and stared as she saw the major diffrences that Usagi's Pokeballs had from normal Pokeballs. She shrugged and took the balls to the healing machine. Joy handed Usagi the silver and white balls back. "Your Pokemon are fully healed. I hope we see you again soon." Usagi nooded her thanks and left the Pokecenter. She pulled out her map and quickly checked her route. "Down Route 45 and 46, through Cherrygrove City, and over to Violet City," Usagi muttered. "I can used to it. I can get used to it. Joy and Jenny. I have forgotten a lot, if I forgot that." ------------------------------------------ Chapter 03 Brushing her hair off her forehead, Usagi walked down Route 45. On her way, she was forced to bring out both Felis and Obelisk to deal with the Pokemon that tried to attack her. Since it was a mountain path, she was bothered mostly by Geodude. After a few battles, Usagi realized that Felis couldn't really affect the Rock Pokemon. Obelisk did have an attack that could deal with them and proceed to use it constantly. To Usagi the attack looked like some sort of descending firey lightning attack. After the attack was used, Obelisk seemed somewhat dazed. Fortunately, the attack was more than enough to drive off the Geodude. Pulling out her Pokedex, Usagi checked the attack Obelisk used. "Outrage. The most powerful Dragon attack known. It strikes two or three times. After its power has been expended, it confuses the Pokemon who used it." "Let's get to Cherrygrove before another Geodude shows up." Usagi recalled Obelsik and finished the trip down Route 45. She made it to the gatehouse at the bottom of the mountain just as night fell. Usagi ducked inside the gatehouse just before its shutteres closed for the night. The gatekeeper on duty looked at the girl who just came in. "Hello. We're closing up. If you want to contiue on, you have to leave now, otherwise you're stuck here for the night." Usagi shook her head and replied, "I'm tired and don't want to spend the night outside." The gatekeeper nodded and pointed over to one side of the gatehouse. "You can sleep over there." Usagi thanked the man and set up her sleeping bag. She also released her Pokemon so they could stretch and sleep outside their Pokeballs. Crawling into her sleepin bag, Usagi smiled as her two Pokemon cuddled up next to her. "We'll be in Cherrygrove tomorrow afternoon," Usagi told her Pokemon. "Good night." "Meowth." "Vitar." ------------------------------------ As the sun rose, Usagi left the gatehouse on her way to Cherrygrove. As she passed a tree, she saw a poster nailed to it. Curious, she walked over to it. "Wanted. Team Rocket Members: Butch and Cassidy. Wanted for Pokemon theft." Usagi stared at the poster. "Why would anyone steal another person's Pokemon?" Sighing she shook her head and headed west to Cherrygrove. She pulled out her brooch and opened it up. She concentrated on healing Felis and Obelisk of the damage they picked up during the trip down Route 45. A silver glow passed over the balls and Usagi nodded, feeling certain that her Pokemon were fully healed and refreshed. She closed the brooch up and put it away. "I have the feeling that I can do a lot more than just heal with the crystal. I'm not sure what I should try, though," Usagi said to herself. Putting that thought out of her mind, she walked on. She spotted two trainers having a Pokemon battle. As she passed them, she heard a voice call out. "Hey! I feel in the mood for a Pokemon battle. How about it?" Usagi turned and saw a young girl headed her way. She was about to say no when something Professor Spruce said came back to her. *A Pokemon Trainer can not refuse a challenge.* Sighing, Usagi nodded and waited for the girl to throw out her fisrt Pokemon. The girl said, "Rattata, go." Usagi smiled and sent out her Pokemon. "Felis, go." The girl blanched whe she saw Usagi's Meowth appear, but valiantly pressed on. "Tackle attack!" "Pay Day!" Felis was faster than the rat Pokemon and hit it with a load of coins. The Rattata barely shook off the attack and tackled Felis. Felis got back to her feet, not too damaged from the attack. "Felis, Fury Swipes!" "Rattata, Tackle!" Felis launched into a rapid series of swipes that knocked the Rattata out. The girl recalled her Pokemon and sent out a Pidgey. "Felis, return," Usagi said. "I think Obelisk should also have a go." Usagi released her first Pokemon. "Tar!" "Pidgey, Sand Attack!" "Obelisk, Sand Storm!" Even though the Pidgey was faster and able to get a sand into Obelisk's eyes, the Larvitar was able to kick up a Sand Storm that ripped and tore into Pidgey. "Gust Attack!" "Bite!" As the sand storm raged, Pidgey launched a small whirlwind at the Larvitar to little effect. Obelisk countered by barely biting into Pidgey's leg. The pain from the bite and the damage from the Sand Storm were too much for Pidgey, and it promptly fainted Usagi asked in a concerned tone, "Are your Pokemon all right?" The girl nodded, and replied, "They'll be fine. They just need some time at the Pokemon Center. Thank you for asking. Your Pokemon are quite strong." "Are there any rules I should know about?" Usagi asked. "Don't mess with the Quagsire. You can't capture or battle them." "Thank you," Usgai said, as she headed on her way to Cherrygrove. As noon approached, Usagi saw a group of blue Pokemon sitting alongside the road. She quickly pulled out her Pokedex and pointed it at them. "Quagsire. The Blowfish Pokemon. This Pokemon..." Usagi snapped her Pokedex closed. "So those are Quagsire. I wonder what they are doing." Usagi carefully made her way past the Quagsire. She felt very uneasy as the Pokemon just stared at her as she passed by. After she had passed, the Quagsire formed a semicircle on the road and stared after her, making Usagi very uneasy. The sound of a motorcycle approcing distracted her from the staring Pokemon. "Officer Jenny," Usagi mumbled. "I guess that Joy was right." "All right you, what are you doing to those Quagsire?" Usagi said, "Me doing to them? They keep staring at me. Tell them to stop." "Did you catch any of them?" "No," Usagi said, and released her two Pokemon. "Those are the only Pokemon I have." Officer Jenny said, "Recall your Pokemon. Hmmm. I have never seen Quagsire do this before. Do you have any idea why they are doing it?" Usagi was almost in tears, as she recalled her Pokemon. "No. Please tell them to stop staring at me." Jenny saw the distraught expression on Usagi's face and took pity on her. "Get in the sidecar. We'll leave the Quagsire behind." "Thank you," Usagi said, as she scambled into the side car. Usagi breathed a sigh of relief as she saw the Quagsire vanish in the distance. "That was creepy the way they just stared at me." "You have no idea why they did it?" Usagi shook her head. "I guess this is just a Pokemon mystery that'll never be solved." --------------------------------- Officer Jenny took Usagi into the Cherrygrove Police Station. After Usagi had calmed down from her experience, Jenny got the Pokedex from Usagi and checked her identity. "White City? An unusual starting place." "Not as unusual as those Quagsire," Usagi said, drinking some hot choclate. "I'm sorry the Quagsire spooked you like that. That has never happened before," Jenny said. "Lucky me. Pardon me, but could I use your phone?" "Sure go ahead." Usagi dialed the number of Professor Spruce. After the second ring, Professor Spruce answered. "Hello, Professor Spruce here. Ah. Hello, Usagi. What can I do for you?" "Professor Spruce, I'm in Cherrygrove and I was hoping you could explain something." "Sure go ahead." Usagi launched into an account of the actions of the Quagsire. Professor Spruce frowned as he heard the tale. "I'm sorry, but I have no idea why they did that. I'll call Professor Oak in Pallet and see what he has to say." "Thanks, Professor. I just want to get away from here as fast as possible." "I don't blame you. After an experience like that, I'd probably be running myself," Professor Spruce said, chuckling slightly. "Look, I have to leave now. I'll talk to you later. Bye." "Bye." Officer Jenny asked, "Where are you heading?" "Violet City. I'm going to try for my first badge there." "I'll see you out of town. No offense, but I don't think you'll be rational if you see another Quagsire." "None taken." Usagi got into the sidecar of Jenny's motorcycle and felt relief that she would be away from the Quagsire. She closed her eyes and felt the wind in her face. When she opened her eyes, she was in for a rude shock. Lined up on both sides of the road, Quagsire were sitting and staring at her as she went by. Closing her eyes, Usagi said, "Tell me when we have got past them all." "Uh. Right. I will," Jenny replied in a slightly stunned voice. After a while, Usagi felt the motorcylce stop. Opening her eyes again, she looked at Office Jenny. "End of my jurisdiction," Jenny explained, and pointed up the road. "Violet City is in that direction." "And the Quagsire?" Usagi asked. "Head up the road and don't look behind you." Usagi had the feeling that she would freak if she didn't follow Jenny's advice. Nodding, she got out of the side-car and hurried up the road. Jenny turned around and saw a line of Quagsire staring in the direction that Usagi went. "There has to be a reason they are doing this. I just wonder what it is," Jenny said to herself. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 04 At the Hikawa Shrine, a confrontation between four girls and one guy was taking place. "You did what?!" Makoto Kino screamed at Mamoru Chiba. "You idiot!" Mamoru winced and backed away from the irate girl. Looking over, he saw that the other three girls were also upset with him. Mamoru quickly said, "I've been having dreams, where if I saty with Usagi, she will die." Rei slapped him across the face. "Have you thought that maybe the dreams were sent to break you two up?" Mamoru winced, more from the question than from the slap. "I didn't think of that." Rei rubbed her eyes with her fingers and sighed in exasperation. "Go. Just go. Usagi's gone and hurting you won't help matters." Mamoru Chiba nodded and hastily left the Hikawa shrine. After he had left, Ami asked, "Now what?" "I'm not sure," Rei replied. "We still have to deal with the Black Moon Family, but they seem to have changed their goals for no reason." "Not for no reason," a new voice said. The four girls whirled and saw a green haired woman wearing a black skirted sailor suit. "I am Sailor Pluto, the guardian of the Time Gates." Rei asked, "What do you want?" Pluto shook her head sadly and said, "The Dead Moon family was orriginally hunting for the future daughter of the Moon Princess. But when Sailor Moon vanished, Chibi-usa vanished as well. They are now here to kill the Sailor Senshi at their weakest and guide the future to where they rule the Earth." Rei stated, "It's not going to happen. We will stop them." Pluto turned away and whispered so softly that no one could hear, "We will fall. If not now, later. We're just delaying the inevetiable." ---------------------------------------------- Usagi, still a bit unnerved by her experience in Cherrygrove, She stopped and looked at a large building that was right before she would reach Violet City. Looking at a sign in front of the building, she read, "Sprout Tower." .---Anime/Manga Fanfiction Mailing List----. | Administrators - ffml-admins@anifics.com | | Unsubscribing - ffml-request@anifics.com | | Put 'unsubscribe' in the subject | `---- http://ffml.anifics.com/faq.txt -----'
