Heh. I'm thinking I might post this to Fanfiction
net on the Harry Potter Page.
Of course that means I have to make it a strong H.P.
story.

If you really want to draw H.P. fans in, you need to
balance the two worlds a bit more.  Dumbledore is a
very capable wizard.  Having him react as if Cologne
really could kill him with a spell of protection
already in place won't win you any fans from the H.P.
world.  Similarly, the Draco/Ranma confrontation was a
little rough on the H.P. characters.  

Most Ranma crossovers make the Ranma characters
supreme, no matter how powerful or what talents the
characters of the other series possess.  While that's
great if you're a Ranma fan first and foremost, it
only perpetuates the stigma among fans of other series
that reading a Ranma crossover is to be avoided at all
costs.

Well, it seems a bit odd that Cologne would say

that Ranma and Akane were

her students, yet have Shampoo go along with

Kasumi, for Kasumi's

protection, apparently...

I do agree that I was a bit short sighted on that
point. But I do want Shampoo
there as a Kasumi's cat.

It would be unusual for her NOT to have a cat if she
is a wizard.  

Well, Cologne as the DADA teacher could be

interesting... Of course, you've

already said that Cologne doesn't know magic, so

I'm not sure how that would

really work, unless DADA is expected to include

non-magical lessons that

would be appropriate to the class subject as well.

Cologne knows all sorts of ways to kill Magical
monsters, and to deal with 
them.
And while she is not a wizard herself, she knows the
Wizard ways of doing so as
well.

But one thing I intend to have her focus on is
reaction time. She could 
easily kill a wizard while
he was still reaching for his wand. Preparation, and
speed are going to be 
her bywords.

Be careful with this.  Making Cologne too powerful
won't win you many H.P. fans.  Why are wizards only
worried about other wizards in H.P. if Cologne could
kill them off so easily?

 She could easily just be
the instructor for some kind of self-defense class,

in addition to having

somebody else who was new teach traditional defense

against the dark arts.

Well, Defence against the Dark is a sort of self
defense course. ^_^

Considering the cast of characters in DADA so far,
Cologne won't be that much of a stretch.

Speaking of which. I was thinking Kasumi would

fit in Hufflepuff?

Actually, I think Kasumi would fit better in

Slytherin, but I have a much

different view of her character than most people

seem to.  All those

sarcastic comments delivered with an innocent

expression... bleh.  She's

faking, I know it.

Heh. Maybe I can use this story to show the 'real'
Kasumi.

Hey, the canonical Kasumi is a character tailor made
for the H.P. world.  Taking her OOC would probably be
a mistake.

Actually, a part of me rather likes the idea of
making her the central 
character.

Since she's the most H.P.-like of the Ranma cast, that
makes perfect sense for a well-balanced fic.

What Quidich position could she play? ^_^
She might make a good keeper. Bet she can handle a
broom real sweet.

Of course one major plot thread is going to be

the fact that Dumbledore

has

brought three non-wizards into the school.
One of them as a teacher.

Four, counting Shampoo, unless she really IS stuck.

Ahh, but no one knows about Shampoo. She's a
mystery.
I don't intend to let what she really is come out
till the end of the story.
I did say this was aimed at H.P. Fans, with Ranma
fans being able to
get the injokes.

There are likely a lot more Ranma fans who know H.P.
then the reverse.

Just don't make them hate Ranma by running roughshod
over the H.P. cast, please!
