Yes it would, that is both original and a very interesting
concept. I hope you decide to try it, 'cause I would like to
see it, maybe even a series of short stories with Bell in a
different role in Kei's life each time. I mean she said she
would be with him, not how. Mother, sister, wife even as an
enemy or rival depending on what he needed in each life.
Each done with love and caring.
Keiichi let his thoughts once again roll over the circumstances that
had driven him to this, but it came down to one simple fact: there
were no completely human professional mechanics left. Even the simplest
vehicles required an insane amount of knowledge to repair and maintain
competently. Many factors played into this: the availability of neural
interfaces to allow people to know everything about a certain make and
model with just a simple download, 3 dimensional printers to churn out
complex custom parts on demand, and intense competition from AI-driven
robotic repair shops. It was still possible for a person to outperform
the robots, but only by adopting part of their nature.
And so, Keiichi had finally relented and had his own neural interface
installed. It had not helped that Skuld was pressing him to do it, and
that Belldandy got summoned to Heaven just when he needed her counsel.
At least Skuld had offered to perform the operation for free, though Urd
was standing by with healing magic at the ready in case the worst
happened. He figured Skuld either just really cared about him, or had
some custom system she wanted to install...probably the latter.
Keiichi was now lying in bed, recovering from the surgery. Or so he
assumed, though with the goddesses' magic, perhaps the implantation had
been performed by a simple spell. Either way, he had slowly felt the
new system on the edge of his mind, ready for activation.
"Ok, let's see what she gave me." He concentrated for a second,
fumbling for the activation sequence...
#Hello, Keiichi.#
"Wha...?"
#Hehe. So this is what your mind feels like.#
"Bell? What are you..."
#Well, they needed an AI to manage your cyberwear. Skuld wanted it to
be a surprise.#
What they did not know was that this process would eventually result in
the merging of their souls, leaving only one entity to ascend to Heaven
when the body's time was up. Not that this knowledge would have changed
their actions.

Sylphiel woke up with tear tracks on her cheeks, and belatedly realized
she had cried herself to sleep over Gourry yet again. Sighing, she
brushed off her face and set about preparing for the day ahead.
Her heart was still heavy when she reached the temple, and she knew her
face showed sadness that would distract from her duties. The temple was
still mostly empty, so she walked to the altar without ceremony, knelt,
and recited a spell she was fairly certain only she knew.
"Oh being of pure light, watching down on us from the heavens above,
bound by our eternal contract, I plead for your assistance once more.
Cleanse me of all dark forces, that my heart may shine on this day too.
PURIFICATION!"
She had heard of various dark sorcerers pledging themselves to the
monster race personally, but bindings to the gods were rarer if they
existed at all. She picked up this spell in a vision, though just why
a god would be bound to her from some prior life, she knew not. Nor
did she know why any invocation of said being always brought with it the
scent of home cooking.
