Great, you've tossed in so many wonderful ideas here I'm almost inclined to
write the fic... ;P

Sounds interesting - as this is still largely an anime setting with anime
physics and anime rationality, the idea of Akane's persona in the vehicle,
complete with temper and other quirks could still work, despite Nadesico's
comments. Although Nadesico *did* bring up some valid points. The IES
*would* want to yank Akane from the system if they had the time and the
means to do so at this point.
Naturally, they will *not* have the time to remove a well intigrated persona
from the Operating System of the vehicle (Ryoga is likely to have put in
innumerable back-ups and safe guards to foil this sort of effort), and the
back-up OS moduals are all likely to have a copy of the Akane persona in
them as well (again due to Ryoga). Given time, this would still be solvable
for the IES, but the *will* not have the time. They *will* need to deploy
the Ranma-Akane team immediately to stop at least one plan being put forth
by Joketzusoku Inc.
Possibly dealling with a diabolicle "Jusenkyo Project," which is a mutagenic
experiment (currently unstable). Akane's stubborn persona and need to prove
herself may end up with her inadvertantly leaving Ranma exposed at an
inoportune moment, aflicting him with an unstable mutagenic change that
switches his gender to female under certain conditions...
^_^
Hey, you left "1/2" in the title...
^_^
Anyway, after this incident, Akane *does* manage to prove herself to Ranma
(somehow) in time for him to threaten to quit the project if she is deleted.
The IES can't afford to lose him (yet), as he is the only driver that even
passed the test requirements for opporating the vehicle, so Akane gets a
provisional 'stay of exicution' as long as she causes no further major
problems.
Ryoga manages to keep his job (barely), by being the only one who fully
understands Akane, although he is demoted to being a mere mechanic asigned
to the team. While he doesn't mind spending more time with the disembodied
persona of his beloved Akane, his demotion still stings, Ranma's casual
treatment of Akane is upsetting, and the ever present threat of the IES
deciding that Akane won't be worth the trouble is nerve-wracking. So Ryoga
mostly bickers with Ranma out of a sense of general frustration.
Tatewaki Kuno, a training washout for the project who happens to be rich and
full of himself, feels slighted, and wants the car more than ever. Despite
the fact that he cannot handle it nearly as effectively as Ranma can. His
plan? Well, as it seems that the OS is advanced enough to drive the car by
itself, he need only convince it that he is the better partner for it, and
all the prestige wil be his! Naturally, Akane like's Kuno's arrogance even
less than she does Ranma's (as Ranma at least *earned* the right to be
arrogant in his field).
Kodachi Kuno, Tatewaki's sister, is a double agent, and tries to destroy
Akane after Ranma pulls off a few successful missions with the vehicle.
Thus, Akane finally proves her worth to the IES by doing something that a
lesser program would *not* have been able to do - which is take the
initiative in saving herself from sabotage and calling her partner to aid
her (Akane killing Kodachi is out of the question as Akane would be scrapped
anyway before the truth was fully revealled). Ranma manages to capture
Kodachi (with Akane's help), but Kodachi escapes soon after she is turned
over to IES security forces.
Tatewaki finds himself even further seperated from the project, and vows his
revenge on Ranma for this slight on the Kuno family honor! As Kuno was not
as close to the project as he would have liked in the first place, he
remains unaware of Ranma's special condition (which would most likely be
classified to need-to-know only). Thus, Kuno tries various plans to form a
relationship with this new girl (Ranma's alternate form) that apparently has
gotten deeply involved with the project.
Ranma, of course, want's nothing to do with Kuno's attentions, but various
factors consider keeping a descreate eye on the elder Kuno sibling to be
important enough that Ranma finds 'herself' with a cover identity for the
alternate form. The only bright spot in this plan that Ranma can agree with
is that 'she' is not expected to show any romantic interest in Tatewaki -
merely interacting with him on a professional basis. There *are* other
female agents lined up for this role, but Tatewaki has already shown an
interest in the 'new girl', so 'she' is picked for the job...
Akane finds this to be somewhat amusing, but sympethizes with Ranma, in
complete agreement with her partner that Tatewaki is a total jerk...
^_^
Just some thoughts to help you along - use or discard as you see fit...
