This has to be one of the most pleasantly surprising sensations. Not only a
well-written additional work to a storyline of mine, but also a remarkably
fresh and interesting direction taken.

Very nice, Doug. I'm flattered, but I think this story doesn't owe much to
Ten Yen; it stands marvelously on its own.

I've never written as fast as when I typed this story.  It was
completed in about two hours after reading "Burleqsue," by D.F.
Roeder.

I imagine readers are left scratching their heads after backtracking and
reading Burlesque. :P

The original title of this fic is "Consequences: a Tale of Ten
Billion Yen,"

ONNA-RANMA: Uh... Hell no! Not just no, but HELL no!!!

AKANE: Oh, Raaaa-n-maaaaaa... [staggers into the room with a large box
filled with cheap checklaces, some used and already turning green...] And
I've got two hundred million rolls of coins coming...

ONNA-RANMA: [suddenly in her traveling clothes and pack on her back.] POPS!!
TRAINING TRIP!!!

GENMA: Right! ... Isn't that like... five... six... twenty? ... ... A LOT of
Pokari Sweat?!?!

ONNA-RANMA: POOOPS!!!

and was my unauthorized attempt to create a
"proper" sequel to "A Tale of Ten Yen."  Hopefully he won't
kill me for it.  ^_^

Define "proper"... :P Let's say a serious sequel as opposed to a fluffy one.
:P

I've had some vague notions of content for a substantive sequel to Ten Yen
for some time, but nothing's really snapped into place except for a couple
of scenes that would occur rather far apart in the actual story. Oh, well.
Someday, perhaps...

I've not seen/read Sanctuary, so I can't really comment on that, but again,
I enjoyed it thoroughly. Many thanks for writing and sharing.
