Well, I never thought I'd see the day when I saw Genma shown as something
more than an idiot--outside the manga, that is.

True, he seems to be mostly an idiot, but there are a few instances which 
make me believe there's more to him. Hopefully, I'll be able to expand on 
this.

To be frank, you did really well with this story. Scenes are well depicted,
character a kept well (at least I think so) and it has some very 
interesting
possibilities. I especially like it because you actually manage to avoid 
99%
of the fan fiction biases--ie Akane-Is-Totally-Irrational,
Ranma-Doesn't-Have-Any-Sense, etc. In fact, this only thing I can suggest 
is
to keep true to he slightly lighter-heartedness that is the base of the
series--now, that's definitely not a must (I can't even count the number of
really good serious Ranma fics) but is just seems it would fit well with a
title like"Legend of the Drunken Panda"

Starting from part 2 and onward, I'm going to try and add more humor to it. 
Not everything Genma is going to try to do, will succeed. In essence, I'll 
try to return a semblance of fun to this piece as well, though it will most 
likely still be serious at times. ^_^

I can't wait to see more of Genma persona emerge. In reallity, he IS one of
the funniest characters in the series.

Agree with ya, there. I see so much fun potential in him, to keep him as a 
one-dimensional "marry Akane, more food!" type of guy.

Good work, bring on more!
