Hello. My name is Rann Aridorn. I've been writing fics for awhile now... 
though I honestly don't know what sort of reputation, if any, I might have.
I'm making this introduction... indeed, these postings... because of an 
argument on the FFIRC channel tonight. Parts of the argument were as follows:
1) I liked the Ranma OAVs better than the manga.
2) I thought Ranma 1/2 was poorly written... when asked, I said I could do 
better.
Of course, it seemed as if liking the OAVs better had already cast me as 
unredeemable in the eyes of most, and there was no way I was going to be 
allowed to explain anything under the mountain of insults, demands, and 
general mockery.
I shall note, at this time... I think Takahashi is a better writer than she 
would show herself with either Ranma 1/2 or UY. I think both are fairly 
poorly-written... and I think I could write better. I don't know that I've 
written anything that is better than either... likely, I haven't... but I 
know I've written at least a few things I was pleased with and proud of.
So... I've been mocked for my preference in anime... I've been mocked 
because I wrote PwoP lemons... etc. Well, that's okay.
I will also say here, before any of the people from the chat have a chance 
to point it out jeeringly, that I said I'd heard that the FFML was a poor 
place to be. Indeed, that there were a lot of losers here. That's exactly 
what I said, too: "I heard". And I did hear it from a few places. I can't 
say that it's true or false, as I've just joined, and don't really intend 
to stick around all that long.
A number of times, I was asked to provide some sample of my work "to prove 
I was better". Well, I never said I'd written anything that actually was 
better, so thus, it's impossible for me to prove it's so. But, as 
fanfiction.net is partially down, apparently, I will go ahead and post one 
of my current series in progress, Alliance, here for review.
You may review it as you like. If those from the chat tonight feel like 
slamming the fic purely on the grounds that I got angry at them and traded 
insults, that's fine. If authors point out that the first few parts aren't 
that good, that's fine too... I started this project over two years ago, 
working on it off an on, and things have changed since the beginning. I 
hope, though, that some reviews will be honest, constructive, and 
what-have-you.
Well, I've rambled on enough. I'm going to be posting all currently 
complete parts of Alliance in a little bit, which is why the mild flood 
warning... you can ban my email or whatnot if you just plain hate me, and 
not bother with getting my fics in your mailbox.
In any event, sorry for anything I might have said in this email to offend 
anyone. I'll note, again, that I did not, and have not, said the FFML is 
actually a bad place. Only that I heard it had its problems, and 
apparently, if you say you've heard something, that means you believe it 
100%... at least on IRC.
