She didn't wrap some wire around an old Twinkie for the antenna?

Twinkie? Pshaw! She's using McDonald's food! Much better reception that
way.

I've been trying to suggest almost-food items to complete her creations.
I'm not sure McDonald's is close enough to food. Of course, Twinkies are
on the edge too. Maybe it's the less natural the more effective; her Dark
Kingdom heritage showing.

"It gets cold here?"

"Sure. Got down to almost 20 durn the blizzard o '98."

Seems about right.

Amy Lynn wouldn't consider 20 F cold, just barely cool enough to start
getting comfortable; maybe put on socks with her sandals.

I forget the exact year, but Garrison Keillor was broadcasting from the
region (Atlanta, I think) during it. When I heard the show live, I thought
he was joking about the snow.

A quarter mile seems excessive. Maybe a hundred feet?

Two or three hundred? I want to empahsise how much power the youma let off
when it blew since it wiped out the clearing and pond.

Two or three hundred feet is fine with me. I just thought 1/4 mile (1320
ft) in diameter would be rearranging too much of the landscape and would
have to be more than 30 feet deep.
