Pine-Sol Power Clean Up!
Magical Moist Towelette?
Mr. Clean Kamen?

I'm just playing around with some ideas for the new Magical Girl
transformation, attack and, of course, Mysterious Savior. (Hmmmm . . .
tiny plungers instead of roses?)

Cute, though the point I was trying to make (and probably failed) was
that, to Bloodmaker the savage, Kasumi - as we know her, without
anything we would view as special attacks - was magical.

I bet I'm not the only one getting acute Super Mario Brothers flashbacks at this point ^_^'

@@I just had the urge to do a "Super Mario Brothers"/Utena fusion.
I'll go lie down now.

SMB/Trigun: Super Meryl Sisters. Add a padded bra, restyle the hair and
grow it out a bit, and Vash's dimensions don't see to be that far from
Peach's. And even if she does get kidnapped a lot, it's not like Peach
hasn't taken down her share of villains.

SMB/Ranma: Super Happi Brothers. ...on second thought, no. Just no.
(Though, I do remember a Super Soun Brothers.)

SMB/Tenchi: Super Kamidake Brothers. For all we know, something like
this might actually have been their path to glory, before the series
began.

SMB/Sailor Moon: Actually, someone's probably already done this. Pick
any two senshi, or the cats, or two from any one set of villains...

SMB/Samurai Pizza Cats: Given the setting, it'd probably be in character
for Speedy and Guido to cosplay as Mario and Luigi, respectively. Of
course, Polly would be cast as Peach, and proceed to ruin whatever
circumstance set this up. Though, I can just imagine Francine donning a
Toad hat while protesting about dressing up as a pizza topping.

Since I'm de-lurking anyway:
Another thing entirely I've been expecting (dreading would be a better
word) has been certain authors of dark and twisted stories coming across a japanese film called Battle Royale (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0266308).

<SNIP>

@@I know OF the film. Since I haven't see it or read the book I
probably shouldn't comment . . . however the comments of people who
HAVE seen the film disturb me. (14 & 15 year olds think it's GREAT? Raving
about the wonderful suicide or 'grenade in the severed head'?) My understand is that the novel is supposed to be set in an Alternate Universe
Japane that WON WWII and it's supposed to be an antiwar/anti violence
novel, similar to "All Quiet on the Western Front". I could be wrong. Plus, I think all these "first person shooter" games have desensitized people to violence. (Rather like the Roman Games, that had to get ever more elaborate and violent as the crowds became jaded)

I could write a BR/Ranma or better BR/SM xover, but I assure you it would NOT end on a dark note. Frankly, if I want sensless violence I can just turn on the TV news.

BR/Ranma: See "Ill Met By Starlight". Possibly, the Ranma from there
actually went through this.

BR/SM: After some discussion, all of the other senshi agree to die.
Some choose simple suicide, others go out in more dramatic fantasies.
(For instance, if you want a drop of lemon, Mako electrocutes herself
and Ami just as they achieve climax.) Usagi is released, then
ressurects them once home.

Dammit! The good guys DO win and there ARE happy endings. Which is why i'll probably never be a commercial success as a writer. If I'D been writing "Silence of the Lambs" Hannibal would have 'eaten' a 12ga magnum slug at the end of the movie. (after an appropriate amount of earthly suffering or an assurance of devine retribution in the next life. Perhaps reincarnation as a lab-rat in a cancer research center)

There's market for happy endings and sad endings. Consider the number
of successful films with the former vs. with the latter. Just because
the latter sells doesn't mean the former doesn't as well.
