This sometimes happens when you use a word processor to write a fic --
Word, for example, translates elipses (...) to a specialty character,
which is then most often transformed into a period (.) or something
completely useless when the text is then converted to ASCII. The fic as
written probably had elipses, and it's unlikely that this error can be
corrected in the master copy, due tothe workings of the editor it was
written in.

archaic POS... less features to screw the text up with...)
