As a courtesy, and because I have been reminded of
said courtesy, I am posting below the summary for
Chapters 1-6 of 'Hearts or Diamonds'.

 Eight years after the manga and after Ranma has
walked away from Akane for reasons known only to her,
Akane is a special kind of courier living in the US.
She's the person you use for stuff you can't send
through DHL or FedEx.
 
 She's asked to transport the Great Mogul diamond,
formerly the property of King Shah Jehan, to the agent
of a buyer. The agent is presumably somewhere in
Shanghai. The factor who hires Akane sends Ranma with
her as a bodyguard. 

 Goons have attacked Ranma right before he meets up
with Akane. He mistakes Akane for a hooker and there's
some shooting but the duo escape and go to Akane's
apartment.

 Ranma is astonished to discover that Akane is the
person he has to guard.
 
 In Shanghai, Akane and Ranma are attacked right as
the leave the airport. They defeat their attackers and
learn that someone named Kesari Dal sent the goons
after them.
 They check in to the Silver Lily hotel where the
agent, Sir Blaine, had been residing. They discover
that Blaine left the hotel three days before and also
who he associated with. 
 Later, tension over unresolved issues evolves between
Ranma and Akane. Ranma is angry and Akane offers her
body to Ranma. They have sex. Akane confesses to Ranma
that she drove him away 8 years ago to protect her
sister from Kunou.
 Before Ranma can comment, a bomb blows up the outer
wall of their room.This is where Chapter 7 starts.
