FI Promotion: Bishonen Style

By Azure A. Blue

[Interior. Time nondescript]

[Scene opens upon a TV screen upon which were the images of three rather scantily-clad young men seated side by side on a sofa in a prototypical living room setting. Slowly, the following caption appeared on the bottom of the screen: ]

CAPTION: FI Promo

Featuring: The "Flawed Angels"

[Beyond the screen, the boy seated in the middle - a thin, doe-eyed brunette of puppyish mannerism - addressed the viewers with a somewhat forced smile.]

Boy [awkwardly tugging on the non-existent legs of his cut-offs to try and look more modest]: Hello . . . this is um . . . Jonah Clayborn here. These are my friends, [gestures at the pale, silver-haired youth to his left] Azrael, and [gestures at the tanned, dark-haired youth to his right ] Camael. We're here to promote the story we came from - Fallen In, available in Illustrated E-book format.

Azrael [arcing a pale brow at Jonah's words]: Tearing down the fourth wall here, aren't we?

Camael [as he adjusts the too-large tank top floating around his lean built with much grumpiness]: Well, that won't be the only thing we might have to tear down in this bishie-porn promo. Damn, how did archangels of our caliber got ourselves into this?!

Azrael [sighing, as he tugged self-consciously on his turtle-neck to make it less skin-tight around his trim torso]: We're fictional beings enslaved to the will of our writer.

Camael [snorting]: And what a writer we've got.

Jonah [smiling on at the camera despite the two's antics]: . . . while it might not be apparent at first sight, those two are actually angels working on behalf of God. For those familiar with the short story Sariel, you'd probably know that Azrael is an archangel of Death, while Camael is an archangel of War. Here in Fallen In, these two are my guardian angels . . . with hidden agendas, which I can't reveal at this point for fear of ruining the plot twists for you. You see, Fallen In is an occult fantasy set in modern times. An apocalyptic modern time, to be exact, where angels, devils and humans have to face some pretty dramatic situations as the final battle between Heaven and Hell draws near. [Relaxing somewhat, he semi-crosses his startlingly long legs.] As the leading man of this story, I-

Camael [interrupting]: Close those legs, leading man: you're flashing the girls wearing those cut-offs.

Jonah [snapping his legs shut with a furious blush over his small face]: . . . I can guarantee that it WILL appeal to both shoujo and yaoi fans. Aside from having an engaging, edgy story that might at times be hell for us who have to live it out, Fallen In is packed with what the shoujo and yaoi genres are really all about: [grabs Azrael, and shoves the startled youth's fine-featured face right in front of the camera for a close-up] *BISHONEN* ~~<heart!>.

Camael [muttering under his breath]: "Bi" being the operative word here.

Jonah [ignoring Camael still]: And the best thing of all is, these lookers are all being illustrated by the author such that you can actually see the boys behind the flowery descriptions. In fact, Fallen In has so many illustrations per chapter, it nearly rival that infamous "Stigma" manga in terms of image count . . .

[At Camael's words, Azrael's fine features frosted over, startling Jonah into backing away. Slowly, the chalk-pale youth straightened up, turned, and cast his glacial smile upon the dark youth.]

Azrael: You want to say something about my relationship with Lady Sophia? Camael?

Camael [shrugged]: Sufficient to say that reincarnation does magic to one's gender identity.

Azrael [smile gaining a sharper edged]: You know, you shouldn't get to throw hissy fits like this just because you're the only one among us who is straightly ga-

Jonah [cutting in at this point with an agitated yelp]: Watch it with the spoilers, guys!

[At his words, Azrael forcibly schooled his features, as he turned away from Camael to laid back on the sofa in a coolly sedated pose. Camael, on the other hand, got all the more heated.]

Camael: Yeah, I purposely made it spoilerific! [He flipped the finger at someone off screen.] So *CHEW ON THAT*, you bishonen exploiting, cross-posting so-called-writer!!

Jonah [after sighing deeply]: In conclusion, Fallen In has great story, artworks, and illustrated Bishies for you all to indulge to your heart's content. And the reason I'm here along with these two acting like desperate boy toys on crack is because THE AUTHOR IS PRESSURING US TO COME AND GET MORE C&C FROM YOU PEOPLE!!!! So PLEASE!! To those of you who have already read Fallen In Part 1: GIVE C&C!!! Don't mind-starve our writer with lack of response and have him jeopardize our continual existence, or worse, project his own desperation onto us! Let him know that you're reading his stuff!
