I'm not too sure of that...I don't think the "today" is necessary here.

If I recall correctly, she is still trying to keep the marriage a
secret and the attempt to register it might still fail if it reaches
the wrong hands.  I have been eagerly waiting for a long time to see
what happens to it.

towards them.  Akane shrank close to Ranma's side, and clutched his

I don't quite get what you mean.  Are you saying "by" isn't necessary?

white.

The envelope was from City Hall, and it was addressed to Mr. and Mrs.
Ranma Saotome.  This was going to require some very fast talking on

her

part.

At least she's getting a chance for a save.

And it's a good thing that Soun is easy to confuse.
