Only a few general comments.

1)I rather liked the beginning of the story. However I liked it less well the more you tried to make a one-to-one substitution with "The Three Musketeers". I want to read your story. Use tTM as the 'seed' for your story by all means, but once you've put your characters into the story, let them act in accord with their natures, dialogue and all. ^_*

2)As for Genomancer vs. technomancer & the other 'technical' criticisms I'll refer you to Watt-Evens 'Fith Law of Fantasy": Magic, like everything else, has rules. (http://www.sff.net/people/lwe/miscellaneous/laws.htm)
It doesn't matter what you call it or even if the reader knows'how it works', as long as YOU the author know, and KEEP the rules consistant. For example, if Ranma's 'cursed' form looks like a female version of his male form, then anyone else with a similar curse has to follow the same rules. No fair having someone 'hide' their identity because their cursed form looks different from the uncursed form. (I'll leave it to you to figure out how _this_ 'rule' works with animal curses. ^_*)

3) "Horse" vs motorcycle vs. whatever: see Watt-Evens page for more detail. Again, KEEP it consistant. If 'they' call it a horse, and use it like a horse, then it's a horse, even if it looks like a 1952 Studebaker. JUST keep it consistant. Don't call it a 'horse' on page one and give it wheels and a V8, then in chapter 23 it's got four legs and eats oats. (see also an interview with Terry Prachett:
http://www.writerswrite.com/journal/apr00/pratchett.htm)

IMO, it's BETTER to make the world the way YOU see it. And if you see 'horses' with wheels, then that's the way it is and don't change it for anyone else. (However, the more you diverge from 'reality' the more effort you have to put into the story in terms of research and careful note-taking so you don't confuse yourself. IMO, the result it worth it.)

4)Regarding the discussion: Character A(from manga X ) is the best choice for Character 2 in your story? That's entirely up to you. There is no 'best' choice. it all depends on how you see the story. Frankly, the basic story is original enough (same basic plot as "Prisoner of Zenda" or "the Mad King" for a coupe of other examples) that you don't actually NEED manga/anime characters. you might think about doing this as an original story.

At any rate, a very good beginning. IMO, it's better to make the story yours. Don't try to keep so close to the original tTM. Hope some of this has been useful. good luck.
