Slayers belongs to it respective owners, I am making no money off of
this.

This is just something I whipped up, while redoing and working on other
fics.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lina Inverse looked on in horror as Darkstar fired a beam that killed
Fillia. Soon the second segment joined up with Darkstar, allowing him
to fully appear on the world. Closing her eyes, Lina let out a heavy
sigh.

'There's no choice now. Galvayra is going to have to do in place of
the Talismans. If only....'

Ignoring the cries of her companions, Lina started chanting her spell.

"Blacker than the blackest pitch. Deeper than the deepest night.
"King of Darkness who shines like gold upon the Sea of Chaos."
"I call to thee. Swear myself to thee."
"Let the fools who stand before me be destroyed
"by the power you and I posses."
"Bow accept this darkness and obey my command."

Lina opened her eyes and stared at Darkstar. 'If only Fillia hadn't
delayed.... If only there was some other way.... There's no choices
left. If I lose control, I destroy the world. If it doesn't work,
Darkstar destroys the world. I wish I could do it over.'

 "GIGA SLAVE!!!!!"

Lina released the black energy arrow at Darkstar. The Dark Lord
retaliated and fired a blast of energy that collided with the Giga Slave
arrow. The Giga Slave exploded and started spreading. The expanding
globe of darkness consumed Darkstar and made its way to the Lina and
company.

As the globe of darkness consumed her, Lina thought, 'I controlled the
spell. The world is saved. I only wish that I could have done
something different. Gourry....'
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lina woke up with a start and looked around.

 "Gourry?"

Lina climbed out of appeared to be an inn's bed. She took a look at
the clothes she had brought with her. She saw that her clothes was her
original travelling outfit. Picking them up, she spied a letter that
was addressed to her. Picking it up, she almost fainted. It was from a
man by the name of Diol asking her to meet him at his castle.

"That was.... Was it all a dream? Amelia? Zelgadis? Gourry?"

She put on her clothes as she tried to keep the tears out of her eyes.

"Nothing more than a very elaborate dream. To think that I could do
all that is ridiculous. Gaav, Phibrizo, Shabranigdo, Darkstar."

As she walked around the bed, her foot kicked something that made a
heavy metallic clunk. Looking down, she spotted a metal bow and the
backs of four talismans. Lina sank to her knees in shock as she reached
out and grabbed one of the talismans.

"It can't be," she whispered, as she flipped over the talisman.

She flinched as she saw the symbol of Darkstar etched on the inside of
the talisman, behind the translucent crystal.

'The Demon Blood Talismans. My mind must have been sent into the
past. There's only one way to check.'

Lina quickly put on the talismans and cast the Ragna Blade. Seeing the
black sword in her hand, Lina recalled what her last thoughts were when
the Giga Slave engulfed her. She dispersed the blade and grabbed
Galvayra and started idly drawing imaginary sketches on the floor.

'It all happened. I'm in the past. I have a chance to avoid those
fights. I just have to make sure not to use the Giga Slave and prevent
Rezo from getting the Philosopher's Stone.'

She stood up and was about to cheerfully leave the inn when a sudden
thought struck her and stared at Galvayra.

'Darkstar. If my sister finds out that I knew he was killing people
and that I did nothing..... What do I do? Who do I count on? Naga?
No.'

Lina wracked her brains as she thought. 'I won't meet Gourry until I
take on the Dragon's Fang. Zelgadis is working for Rezo and Amelia is a
bit of a nut right now. Xellos is definitely out the window. I need
advice and knowledge. Knowledge? Auntie Aqua.'

Lina nodded as she stashed Galvayra away and went downstairs to pay her
bill. She left the inn and looked north. She smirked as she decided
her destination.

'Naga catches up with me at Diol's, but I'm not going to be there. I
know where the Clair Bible is.'

 "RAYWING!!"

Lina used the talismans to boost her spell's power. As she flew, her
mind was whirling in trying to come up with a plan to defeat Darkstar.

'We lost because Fillia hesitated too long. I don't want any Monster
to know what I'm doing, but where am I going to get Demonic magic? Wait
a second, the vessels should still be in existence.'

Unlike most of her journeys, Lina had a definite goal in mind and was
doing a straight flight without turning to either side. As she flew,
she put more of a plan together. After a few days journey, she soon
reached her goal of the Dragon's Peak. She quickly pulled off the
talismans and hid them away.

'This is going to be the hardest part, convincing the dragons to let me
use the Clair Bible.'

Lina took a deep breath and entered the cave that led to the Clair
Bible valley. She walked out onto the ledge overlooking the valley and
waited to be noticed. Soon, a gold dragon spotted her and landed.

"Human, what are you doing here?"

Lina answered, "I seek the knowledge of the Clair Bible to answer a
prophecy I received. I think I figured out most of it, but it presents
another question that has to be answered."

The dragon cocked his head. "A prophecy? Tell me the prophecy and I
shall see what the Clair Bible has on it."

Lina smiled and recited the Fire Dragon King's prophecy.

 "Wait here."

Lina sat down on the edge of the cliff face and watched as the dragons
flew back and forth. She blinked tears out of her eyes as she thought of
Gourry. A sudden shadow passing over her caused her to look up. The
golden dragon she talked to earlier landed beside her and took a human
form.

"I am Milgasia. You are to come with me to see the Clair Bible."

Lina smiled as she stood up. "So, what does the Clair Bible have on
it?" 'As if I didn't know.'

"That it is a real prophecy and if it is not figured out completely
will lead to this world's doom. One part that was made clear was that a
human is necessary to fulfil it. Since you're the human that brought
the prophecy, it must be talking about you."

Milgasia led the way to a room with a transparent globe hovering in mid
air. Inside the globe was a glowing blue sphere. Lina looked around,
hunting for Auntie Aqua.

Milgasia said, "That sphere is the Clair Bible. If you grasp it, your
mind will be brought into contact with the memories of the Water Dragon
King. If you seek to use the Clair Bible for selfish ends, we will know
about it."

Lina nodded and headed into the globe holding the Clair Bible. She
grasped the blue sphere and her mind was joined with the last thoughts
of the Water Dragon King. As she did so, a small lady wearing a blue
dress came out to stand beside Milgasia.

"Auntie Aqua, is it wise to let a human use the Clair Bible?"

"Maybe. Maybe not, but I have the feeling she's hiding something,
Milgasia."

Inside Lina's mind another conversation was taking place.

"Mortal, what is it you seek?"

Lina screwed up her courage and began. "The God Vorfeed and the Dark
Lord Darkstar have merged into one being. The combined being intends to
destroy all four worlds. Without using the Giga Slave, how can that
being be slain?"

 "...."

"Hello? Anyone there? I guess there's no choice. Water Dragon King,
since my mind is in telepathic contact with you, can you read my mind?"

 "Yes."

"Then do so and find out the events that led up to my mind being thrown
more than four years into the past from the battle when Darkstar invaded
our world!"

Lina felt her like cold water was being poured into her head. At the
forefront of her thoughts was the plan that she had concocted and what
she needed to do to finish it.

The Clair Bible said, "The plan that you have created will not work."

 "Why not?"

An image was shown of the temple of the Fire Dragon King after Lina
'repaired' it.

"All right. So, I'm not the best engineer in the world. What about
Milgasia? Could he do it?"

"Yes. In that case, your plan will work"

"Now before I get the spells I need, will using the Ragna Blade through
Galvayra open a hole in the Great Barrier Seal?"

"You will create a hole but you will not be able to run fast enough to
get through it before it seals back up."

"I have no intention of running. If Milgasia is coming with us, I'm
going to be firing it from dragon back. Can we get through at the speed
a gold dragon can fly?"

 "Yes."

Rubbing her hands together, Lina said, "Let's get to work. Please give
me the spells I need to complete my plan."

 "Very well."

Lina's mind was flooded with magical words and phrases. The pour of
information stopped and Lina nodded.

"Thank you," she said, as she started crying. "I've lost everything
that I held dear. Is it so wrong of me not to want to have the fate of
the world resting on my shoulders all the time? I want a life where I
don't have to worry about having Dark Lords trying to kill me or have me
cast the Giga Slave. I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror
and not flinch. Am I wrong for wanting that?"

Lina broke the connection the Clair Bible and sank to her knees with
tears in her eyes. Auntie Aqua walked up to Lina and put a comforting
hand on her shoulder.

"No dear. It's not wrong for you to want that. Rest now. You can
start your journey tomorrow. Milgasia, show Miss Lina to a bed and have
lots of food ready for her. Afterwards, you're going to learn some
things that will help her in her self imposed mission."

Lina nodded and headed back to the entrance of the Clair Bible. Before
she made it, Auntie Aqua called out.

"Miss Lina? Are you still going to be sticking by that story of a
prophecy?"

Lina gave a sad smile. "You can tell Milgasia. But I think for
everyone else, I'll stick to saying that I had a vision of the future."

Auntie Aqua nodded. "Don't worry about it. I'm sure you'll find him
again."

 "Thanks Auntie."

Milgasia took Lina to a bedroom and said. "You'll be sleeping here for
tonight. Why did you not tell the truth?"

"Ask me that again, after you get the full story from Auntie Aqua.
It's kind of unbelievable. The prophecy was enough to get Auntie
Aqua's attention. Milgasia, I'm sorry for dragging you into this, but I
need your help. Please wake me at dawn. I want to get this out of the
way as fast as possible, so I can get back to my life."

Milgasia nodded as Lina went to sleep. As the night wore on, Lina
dreamed of her adventures. A bit before dawn, Milgasia gently shook her
awake.

"Gourry?" Lina asked with sleep blurred eyes.

"No. I have brought your breakfast. It should be enough considering
your appetite," Milgasia replied, with a smile. "Auntie Aqua has told
me all about you and what you are planning to do. Do not be sorry for
dragging me into this."

 "Why not?"

"You intend to save not only this world, but the other three as well.
It is an honor to do this. You do have a bit of notoriety here. You
are the first person who has been able to stump the Clair Bible."

Lina shrugged. "After I finish breakfast, I'll get the two pieces I can
get on this side of the barrier. While I'm doing that, you should get
those plans."

Milgasia nodded and left. Lina finished the thirty plates of eggs,
bacon, and cheese just as the sun peeked over the horizon. Setting
aside the eating utensils, Lina left the valley. She quickly put on the
talismans again and used them to boost her Raywing spell. As she flew,
she headed towards a town she knew was being raided by a bandit gang
known as the Dragon's Fang. A town that she destroyed in her past with
a Dragon Slave.

'I know that the Philosopher's Stone will wind up in that bandit
group's possession, but it might not be there yet.'

Lina cast one of the spells she learned from the Clair Bible.

  'There, it's in that store.'

Walking into a curio shop, Lina soon spotted the orihalcum statue she
was after. She winced a bit as she saw the price. Before she could
start haggling over a price, she heard screams coming from outside.
Lina quickly ran outside and saw people she recognized. It was the
Dragon's Fang bandit group. The owner of the curio shop was beside Lina
wringing his hands.

"They're back. I don't know how much longer our town can take this."

Lina smiled. "If I get rid of them, can I get something from your
store as a reward? Say, that orihalcum statue?"

"Yes. Yes. But, I don't see how a young girl like you is going to get
rid of them."

"Watch and learn," Lina said, as she walked out in front of the bandit
gang.

The bandit leader laughed as he saw her. "Do you really think you can
stand up to us? Who do you think you are?"

All of his men started laughing as well.

Lina pointed at herself and said, "Me? I'm Lina Inverse."

 The laughter suddenly stopped.

"The Bandit Killer?!" one bandit yelled.

Before things got too out of hand, Lina made her move.

 "BLAST BOMB!!"

The bandits behind the leader were incinerated by the attack. He did
a triple take between Lina and the scorched ground where his bandits
used to be.

"What in the Nine Hells was that? That was no fireball!"

Walking forward, Lina gave a quick lecture. "Blast Bomb: the most
powerful fire shamanism magic. You want to surrender now?"

"No! I still have one trick to play. Let's see you stand up against
this." The bandit leader quickly whistled.

'I'd better not boost this,' Lina thought as she went into her chant.

"Darkness beyond twilight. Crimson beyond blood that flows."
"Buried in the stream of time is where your power grows."
"I pledge myself to conquer all the foes who stand"
"Before the mighty gift bestowed in my unworthy hand."
"Let the fools who stand before me be destroyed
"by the power you and I posses."
 "DRAGON SLAVE!!"

Lina fired the Dragon Slave right into the path of the diving black
dragon. She watched in satisfaction as the dragon was vaporized by the
attack. Since the explosion was mostly in the air, the town suffered
little damage.

"My pet!!" the bandit leader screamed, as he watched the ruby light
fade.

"That's what you get for sending your pet in to fight a battle against
a master sorceress," Lina said with a laugh. "FREEZE ARROW!!"

Patting the frozen bandit, Lina said, "I should get a handsome reward
for capturing him. I'll take that orihalcum statue now."

The curio shop owner nodded and quickly brought out the statue. Lina
cast her spell and nodded. She waited a bit for the local law officers
to give her the reward money for the bandit leader.

'I'd better pay a visit to their hideout and get rid of the rest of
them.'

Lina quickly did so and went back into their treasure room.

'Under normal circumstances, I'd be grabbing everything I could.
But, this not a normal situation.'

Lina scooped out all of the gems, both flawed and unflawed from the
pile. Turning her back on all of the gold and other valuables, Lina
hurriedly left the treasure vault. She found a secluded clearing where
she could rest a bit.

'Reports of that little stunt will be making rounds. I'd better put as
much distance as I can from here. But first...'

Lina pulled out Galvayra and chanted another spell. She grabbed the
ends of the bow and held it like diving rod. She slowly turned in a
circle watching the bow. The string and arrow of Galvayra appeared as
Lina faced the Southeast. Quickly stowing the bow away, Lina took back
to the air and headed in that direction.

'A spell to detect the Philosopher's Stone and one to track the
Darkstar weapons. After we get through the barrier and to the gate,
I'll use one of the other spells to get to the other weapons. A spell
that will allow me and a companion to travel to the other worlds.'

She made good time from using the talismans to boost her Raywing
speed. Soon, the sun approached the horizon and Lina hunted for a town
to stay in. She landed and removed the talismans once more. Stashing
them away, she was about to approach an inn when she suddenly heard
familiar laughter coming from inside. Lina quickly ducked into an alley
and waited. She didn't have long to wait as Naga came out ranting.

"If you think you're going to cut me out of any sweet deals, you'd
better think again my petite little partner."

'Resist temptation. Resist temptation. Resist temptation to blow her
up.'

Soon, Naga had dashed off in a northerly direction. Lina waited for a
half hour before she entered the inn.

  "Innkeeper, I'd like a room."

The innkeeper did a double-take as he saw Lina.

"Uh. Miss? There was a girl hunting for you earlier."

"Probably, Naga. Right now, I don't want to deal with her."

 "I don't blame you."

Lina scratched her chin for a second and pretended to think. "If she
comes back, tell her that you haven't seen me and send someone to alert
me. I'll be paying for my room in advance, so that I can vanish at any
time, and you won't know when I leave."

Lina handed the innkeeper enough silver for a two night stay. The
innkeeper nodded as he took the money. Lina was led to a room that had
a window overlooking the city square. She quickly closed and locked the
door. She pulled out her crystal ball compass and spell casting mat
from her cloak. She also pulled out the Orihalcum and the bag of gems.
Removing her cloak, she quickly got to work. Using the compass, she
found North and set a ruby on the mat. Picking up the Orihalcum, she
used some spells to melt part of the statue away from the hidden
treasure inside. Shaking the stone into her palm, Lina sat the statue
aside.

'I have one piece of the puzzle.'

Lina placed the stone on top of the ruby. She picked up the orihalcum
statue and used some spells to shape some of the metal into a magic
circle with all of it's characters. After decorating the stone with the
magic seal, Lina put another ruby on top of it. She quickly caused four
flawed gems to shatter into dust and poured the dust over the small
tower. Reciting a few more spells, the ruby dust and rubies started
melting around the Philosopher's Stone. She soon had a perfectly round
ruby with the stone in the center and the magic circle inside as well.

"Mega booster talisman is finished. Now then...."

Lina looked at the shoulder guards on her cloak. She made some
alterations to the side that only had one gem on it. Using some of the
reaming orihalcum, she created another setting. The new talisman was
smaller than the large gem, so it looked to be unimportant and merely
decorative. Satisfied, Lina nodded and shaped the remaining orihalcum
into a small ingot. She quickly placed some heavy protection spells
over all of her equipment and items. After doing so, she put her stuff
away and smiled

Getting into bed and pulling the covers over her, Lina thought,
'Tomorrow, I find Gourry.'
