Good point. It is rather cliched, isn't it?

Nor is Happi, for that matter, but you have a point. But in this instance, I
think Genma agrees with the setiment, even if he doesn't practice what he
preaches... Soun is really the only one who does seem to practice this; like
when Happi returns from his intial run-in with Pantyhose Taro and terrorizes
a local town from within an octopus jar. Genma tends to go along with Soun,
most likely to stay on his good side; after all, Ranma is the only one Soun
really needs there...
The only time Genma or Ranma act on this 'duty' is when Happi goes berserk.
