Just read the story. How come no one ever gives C&C
but yells about my titles? I'm SICK of it!
Just wanted to comment on this because it has an impact not just on you,
Aishuu, but to all aspiring writers.
If I see a misspelled word in the title, that means the author didn't care
enough about his work to even correct obvious spelling errors. If the
author put so little thought into the title, the obvious conclusion is that
he also put little thought into the story. As such, I won't usually bother
to read stories with misspelled titles.
"Sceance" is incorrect, in French or English; you got thousands of hits
because thousands of people misspelled it. Heck, do a search on "mispell"
and you'll get thousands of hits; the correct spelling is still "misspell".
Try http://www.dictionary.com to check for spellings; it's usually quite
accurate.
But don't rant at people for not C&C-ing your story when the title is
spelled incorrectly. Be receptive to feedback that will enable more people
to enjoy your work. In this case, listen to the reaction and spell the
title correctly. You'll eliminate a potential reason why people don't
bother to read the story.
Just my two cents; this is not meant to be a spelling flame, but an
explanation as to what keeps people from reading fanfics in general.
