Yes, Douseiaisha is literally a homosexual in general. Douseiaiteki would be
homosexuality. As the kanji would indicate, the characters would mean "same
gender love." If I were to guess at the English translations into
non-katakana Japanese, I would choose Douseiaijo (female) and Douseiainen
(male) Given these are a mouthful for casual conversation, however, I would
assume that there are slang terms out there, but what they are I don't know.
Just thought I'd add my 2 cents in since I came across these terms in
materials for my Modern Japanese Lit. class. My humble apologies to the
admins if this is beating a dead horse.
