of2)

Note that Eiko carefully did not tell Ranma that eliminating Crystal
Tokyo would kill Chibi-Usa. Sounds to me like "she" wants a dupe,
rather than a free-willed guardian. And that ribbons vs. bows
deception clearly indicates that Eiko is willing to fudge the truth
to get what she wants.

Note that in order for Chibi-Usa to be "not killed", Crystal Tokyo has
to happen exactly as it does according to her history. Which means that
Eiko -- and Pluto, for that matter -- is in the unenviable position of
having to choose between one innocent, or several billion when the Great
Freeze occurs.

Nice piece of blackmail wrapped up in a paradox, neatly
delivered either by Neo Serenity, or the future Pluto. You decide which
possibility is the more chilling.

With that in mind, it's just as likely to be kindness that makes Eiko
not mention this to Ranma - he's got enough crap on his plate right now,
having to decide whether to erase one child from existence or doom 90%
of humanity -- and read the next part carefully -- *WITHOUT THE
GUARANTEE THAT DOING SO WILL PREVENT HER FROM BEING ERASED ANYWAY*.

Eiko isn't human, or even anything close to it, and therefore can make
this kind of decision without worrying its conscience overmuch. Let
Ranma sleep soundly for a few nights at least, until he gets a better
grasp of the responsibilities that come with his new job.

(From what I understand, this kind of paradox situation is exactly what
it was Pluto's job to prevent from occuring in the first place. Which
leaves the interesting question: Why did her future counterpart go ahead
and do it anyway?)
