Hi Michael,

Thanks again for your ever-useful comments, and for supplying them so
quickly.

Unless the control center is very well protected, I'd expect a fight
there which would result in loss of depth control.  That would cause the
sub to drift toward the surface or the bottom depending on the trim when
the fracus started.

The sub was on the surface when the fight broke out, and control was lost
before a dive order could be given.  The sub is, for the most part, dead in
the water at the moment.

A small, black vessel rose from the depths, silently parting the
water's surface as it emerged into the dock.  The camera's motion
tracking software latched onto the movement and smoothly {swiveled :
swivelled} the camera, automatically adjusting its focus to pull the
newly-arrived vessel into sharp relief.

Ha - I changed from 'swivelled' to 'swiveled' at the behest of my
spellchecker, all the while mutturing that it felt wrong.  I think both are
technically acceptable variants of the word, but I think it looks better
with two Ls, so I'll put it back.

"Better?" she asked, tearing her gaze away from those eyes to look down
at the metal grille that covered the elevator platform.  Behind her,
noticed neither by her or {Nine : the Hidari}, a small cloud of white
feathers melted out of her robe and floated gently to the floor.

Whoops - that certainly was a stupid last-minute edit on my part.  Takes
away from the scene, doesn't it?  I've fixed it now.  Thanks for pointing
that one out.
