Just as a point of fact, DB, this is an intentional joke; the fact that
Sasuke comments on how clever the line is and wants to remember it
should have clued you in.  The elder Kuno, already referred to as the
"Macadamia Nut" (as you have so kindly noted), is also an academic -- a
professional in the field of education; "academia" ("a place of
instruction; school", "the academic environment" according to Webster's
Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary) rhymes with "macadamia".  It's a pun,
you see, on both Kuno's profession and his obsession, and a comment on
his level of sanity in both.
