Masterful ending. What else is there to say?
I'll second that.
Thank you, also!
In particular, I was hoping that Lisa would get to
keep her senshi
powers. (But I'll agree that we didn't need to see her using them
again; I thought
that scene had just enough in it, and not a bit too much.)
That was exactly my intent. It was enough to let you know that
Lisa's mage gift had awakened. No more need be said.
(And, before it goes too far, let me just add that Lisa has *no*
"senshi" powers. She is a mage -- who just happens to have started
her career as a wizard with a "macro" that turns her current clothes
into a near-indestructible senshi costume.)
Except that ... if that really was Chitty-chitty-bang-bang buzzing the
Genom tower at the end, then ... well, okay; but you still deserve a
spanking. :)
Here I can't agree. That scene put the biggest grin out of the entire
epilogues on my
face, once I realized what it was they were doing. You certainly set it
up adequately;
we were told that Linna owned one of the four Chitty-chitty-bang-bangs,
and we were
told that Doug had released gravtech into the public domain. I just
never put those
two facts together until a few paragraphs into this epilogue.
That's because, of course, you weren't supposed to. <grin> Giving Linna
a CCBB was a spur-of-the-moment thing when I was writing the scene in
her warehouse-garage. I wanted to give her a couple cool cars, and CCBB
is, in my mind, one of the coolest. (Have you ever seen the specs for
Pierre Picton's street-legal Chitty? 17 feet long, six feet tall, hits
100 mph easily... I want that car...) When I was done, I thought about
what I had there, and thought about the gravtech plot, and then wrote the
epilogue. That epilogue has been sitting and waiting for *years* to have
its moment in the sun. I'm glad it's one of the favorites. <grin>
Yes. Thank you VERY much for creating, and finishing, this story, and
You're welcome, and thank *you*.
I
wish you the best in your future writing, whatever it might turn out to be.
Well, there's always my professional stuff, about which more I cannot
say for fear of getting banned from the list. But as I noted in my
reply to Angus, you can look forward to Drunkard's Walk V, which I will
be co-writing with Christopher Angel.
(What happened to DWs 3 and 4, I hear you ask? I wasn't satisfied with
the plots I'd come up with, and put them on the back burner until I
develop something better. They're not abandoned, just delayed.)
