Quoting "Steve T." <mixednutspress@earthlink.net>:

But she doesn't look like a famous 20th century
actress! She can't be a Superdoll! ;)

The superdolls were modeled after 20th century
actresses? I did not know this.

Nastassia Kinski, Brooke Shields, Vivian Leigh, and
Elizabeth Taylor, at least. I'm not sure which ones
Isabelle, Jennifer, and Sayuri are modeled after (I
haven't seen a definitive credit, and there are too
many possibilities, except that Sayuri is *probably*
Sayuri Yoshinaga).

In Farscape, Chriton drifts through a space battle
and we see it quite clearly through the window of the
cockpit.

Distance: a lot of S-F novels describe space battles
occurring at distances of hundreds of miles or more,
too far to see ships with the naked eye. You, of
course, are not bound by this, but there is a trade-off
of plausibility. If the ships are hundreds of meters
apart, rather than hundreds of miles, Misaki landing in
the middle is just that much more of a fantastic
coincidence.

Illumination: every S-F movie and TV episode which
shows a space battle gets at least the illumination
problem wrong, even if deliberately. The problem is
that you wouldn't be able to see most of the ships'
surface (on which the show's artists have worked so
hard) at all. Without an atmosphere to scatter light,
any surface facing away from a source of illumination
is just black; lasers or other light beams can't be
seen from the side; and any part of a surface you DO
see has to be both reflecting and at the right angle
w.r.t. you and the light source.

"Yer the Terran are yeh?" It asked gruffly. "Well
get yerself out of that getup."

Heh. I love the Scottish accent in the mouth of an
intelligent frog.

I was actually attempting to duplicate Hagrid from
Harry Potter.

Well, I think Hagrid is supposed to have a Scottish
accent, but you did a good job capturing it, IMO.

I didn't think of Washuu, actually. I just thought it
would be funny to have a tentacle monster type bathe
somebody rather then . . . you know.

Though now that you mention it, I can easily see
Washuu making a tentacle monster that bathes people.
She'd probably find it funny.

On second thought, though, I agree with Garth that it's
Aeka's reaction which really caps the scene. So if
you do have Washuu make it, it would have to be a long
time ago, rather than recently, as Aeka really needs
to take it for granted.

Anyway, the overall plot doesn't seem to have been
advanced very much; although we did get an idea of
what Amagi's planning, we still have no more idea
than we did before as to who the Juraians are
fighting, or why.

Actually, its spelled out in Chapter 3. The Juraians
are at war with the Thaniens who are using the
Killthain to conquer the Galaxy. The Killthain . . .
well, there's more to them then I've revealed so far,
but those are the bad guys.

Guess I'll have to go back and read Chap 3 again. I
remember getting names in that chapter, but not motives
or objectives or any sense of how the conflict got
started.
