Ah, quite good, though a bit disjointed - I get the impression that
this was something of an interim, setup episode, and that the bits
that just seem to be hanging there right now are in fact hanging from
strings that willl soon braid into a mighty rope of shitstorm
summoning. Or something.
At the bit about the Manhattan Project, I suddenly wondered if Nabiki
was also familiar with the Philadelphia Experiment - and for that
matter, what exactly the Philadelphia Experiment would be in a
Mythos-enabled universe. Given that the Great White Space is accessed
by propely arranged magnetic fields, it might be an attempt at using
it like what a sci-fi fan would call hyperspace to travel between
points undetectably and perhaps at speeds exceeding what would
normally be possible. I think that it would still be in the future
when SSM is set, however.
I suppose I should be relieved that the girls-and-guns link I sent
you (Daniel) before didn't pervert the story into citrusy angles
(FFMLers: Google for 'slurch' and you'll understand) but somehow, the
preggers-dream-due-to-gunbelt was just about as disturbing.
Speaking of disturbing, try this on for size: Ritsuko and the Pilots
travel the world in the guise of a rock band, but when evil
threatens...
Asuka: Fire!
Shinji: Water!
Jeff: Metal!
Rei: ...earth.
Ranma: Wood!
(They form a circle around Ritsuko, who glows ever more brightly, and
whose voice gains a reverb as she narrates and they are all lost in
the glow)
Ritsuko: By your powers combined, I am...
(The glow fades, and she seems to be alone, if slightly larger, and
dressed in a rather drafty looking spandex outfit)
Ritsuko: ... Captain Shoggoth!
... I'm running away now.
