No, this didn't come from my computer. This kind of virus/worm forges the
address in the "From:" field to make it more difficult to trace the message. In
the vast majority of cases the person in the "From:" header had nothing to do
with it. In order to tell where it really came from you have to look at the
full SMTP headers.
You have any idea how to fix this so I can have
control of my email again (I use XP SP2 Outlook Express 6)
If you are saying that your own computer is infected, then check an anti-virus
site such as symantec.com for instructions on how to remove the problem.
Otherwise, if you just want the spam to stop, well, so do we. Our technical
person, Philip Mak, is working on blocking these message and will do whatever
can be done. In the meantime, please don't unnecessarily compound spam with
more spam by posting to the entire list. If you have concerns about viruses or
anything else that can (only) be addressed by the list administators then write
to us directly at <ffml-admins@anifics.com>.
