[FFML] Rebuilding FFML Community (was Just a note on configuration)

The issue here is that many of us old timers just don't write any
more. Not fanfiction at any rate (I do write professionally now). I
lurk, I read, but I haven't written fanfiction in earnest in probably
five or six years. My main years were really, honestly 1997-2001.
FFIRC did indeed play a part (heck I remember the FFIRC before nabiki,
can't even remember what the old server was at this point, but log
entries can certainly tell me if I bothered to look) but not quite as
big, I think as the con scene and personal webpages prior to these
massive archives.

I remember when fanfiction panels were held in earnest, but now... I
serve on several, and I'm a relic. I sometimes realize there are
people who have have been anime fans for less time than I've
essentially been "retired." And so many us moved on. Myself, Quu, and
Phade went on to build up the anime music video community, and now Quu
has even retired from fandom entirely. I haven't seen or heard from
Tyd in like three years. I could go on...

I mean, honestly, what do you suggest? I don't think we have much of a
pulse, and haven't for a few years now...
