[FFML] Children of an Elder God Finale (Episode 24) COMPLETE

I think maybe the 12 years from start to finish for this (Dear God...
it's been THAT fricken long?!) made it seem that this was a bit,
hmm... rushed in places. The previous chapters have all been so
intense on their build up and battle that I felt kind of gyped when it
came time for the supposedly climatic battle with the big C at his
house in R'lyeh. Of course, it could just show how far along the
Children were, but I think I still would have liked to have had more.

I did enjoy the dream world though, it hit ALL the right notes with
Shinji's Angelic Days idea in the original ending (minus the panty
shots though) with enough hints that below the surface of such
normaility, things that should just not be looked at were there, very
Lovecraftian.

All in all though, I am glad to see this tale draw to a close. I've
enjoyed it greatly, though I am slightly annoyed given that I was
hoping Rei would just eat Asuka and then toss Shinji over her shoulder
and go off to somewhere for a very freaky kind of Lemon Sherbert
sequal.
